Knockmore: Lakeside 1

Welcome to Knockmore's 2 Lakeside cabins. Enjoy 2 private 2 bedroom cabins living alongside the Bras d'Or Lakes. Both cabins are newly built, clean, modern, airy, and open concept. Both are fully insulated with heat pumps. The two cabins are about 100 feet apart; they each offer a secluded, covered porch overlooking the Bra d'Or. We cap each cabin at 4 guests and 2 cars. Although we have lots of parking available for snowmobilers. Ask first before booking. The space Knockmore is located just outside of the quaint village of Baddeck, marking the start and end of the historic Cabot Trail. Benefit from the peace and tranquility of the surrounding forests and wildlife, nestled on a 104 acre property which is home to a 65 acre nature reserve. Enjoy over a mile of Bras D’or Lake frontage along with a 60-foot communal swimming dock. Guests also have shared access to a fresh water, spring fed quarry pool with a small dock, a short 3 minute walk from their door. A canoe and kayak may be available, as might the option, if you are cruising the Lakes, to tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. However, always check availability of the canoe, kayak and dock tie-up option upon booking. Constructed using Eco friendly materials, Knockmore is proudly scent and allergy free. This all-season, fully insulated wood cabin offers hard wood floors throughout and European designed tilt and turn windows on all 4 sides for lovely natural ventilation. Kickback and relax on your private all-season waterside porch or recharge in your bright and comfortable living room. Choose from two separate bedrooms featuring a Posturepedic King bed and two twin beds (which can easily be converted into a king), natural fiber linens, closet and bedside table. Bedrooms are separated by a 4-piece bath with a double set of sliding doors. The bathroom features ceramic tile flooring, quartz vanity top and sink, toilet, tub with shower and new linens. Enjoy the seasonal yields of surrounding farms at the local farmers market or top up at the local grocery store for a special dining experience right at home. Your fully equipped kitchen includes a 13-foot-long quartz countertop with modern Ikea cabinetry, a full size induction cooktop and convection oven, a fridge with freezer, double stainless sink, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee & cappuccino machine, mixing set, utensils, dinnerware and a 6 seating dining table. Take a short 6-minute drive to town to experience the local shops and restaurants, bakery and coffee shops. Explore the Alexander Graham Bell Historical Museum, hop on board the Amoeba sailboat for a unique tour of the Bras d'Or Lake, or take a stroll down the boardwalk to experience the scenery at your own leisure. Enjoy a hike or bicycle ride at nearby nature trails, including Uisge Ban Falls and Kidston Island. Local golfing opportunities include Bell Bay and Baddeck Forks. Live entertainment from some of Cape Breton's finest artists takes place daily at the Bras d'Or Yacht Club, Baddeck Gathering Ceilidhs and Theater Baddeck. Guest access Guests have entire cabin to themselves with keyless entry. The code will be provided prior to I.D. check and check in. Other things to note We have a communal dock shared between our guests and our family for swimming. We have no dock services such as fuel, water, or power. If you are cruising the Bra D'or and wish to stay wih your crew in the cabin, you may be able to tie your boat at the dock for the duration of your stay. It is most important to share the details of the boat and its requirements with the owners before you book your stay otherwise it may not be possible without prior arrangements.
