Xkopek is located in Valladolid, Yucatan state, it is a family project that emerged in 2016 as a space for the conservation and care of native bees, currently at risk due to the lack of information about them. Xkopek Apícola Park is located just over 11 blocks south of downtown Valladolid - you could walk there which would take just over 20 minutes, or by vehicle just over 5 minutes on the transfer. It is a 2 Ha property that is little by little being surrounded by the urban stain, in the future it will be a green lung in Valladolid, while this happens - and we will do our best to maintain it - we are still a wildlife refuge, a perfect environment for nature lovers, it is possible to see a large number of wild animals, insects, reptiles, and it will be a special place for bird watchers, as dry cenote is an excellent bird refuge. On our bee tour that you can enjoy, we can show you multiple elements of our flora and fauna. Yucatan has a hot and sunny weather much of the year, however we also have cold, cloudy and rainy days. Nights are usually cool, nice to sleep in, especially here in Xkopek, surrounded by many trees and vegetation. Due to the nature of the project it is advisable to use mosquito repellent, there is a special presence where the vegetation is most dense. As we mentioned Xkopek is a wildlife refuge in the urban area of Valladolid, we have neighbors in the surrounding colonies, so there may be noises of their own and common living areas. The park is a project worth sharing with other nature lovers, so it's important to know that we have non-guest visitors who come to learn more about bees or visiting the Restaurant. But we also have guests in other types of lodging, camping, Mayan houses, RVs, bungalows, with which you can share the best of your trip. The park has its own Restaurant, La Colmena, where you can enjoy Mexican and typical dishes as well, with a beautiful view of the dry cenote, the restaurant serves from 8 am to 10 pm. Other spaces in the park are: parking, honey shop, bee museum (you must visit our collection!), dining room, hammock areas, pool (with hours of use from 9 am to 7 pm), fire pit, chapel, trails. You can also visit our interactive farm with chickens, roosters, ducks, and geese, available from 9 am to 4 pm. For your mobility we have scooters for rent, you can ask for information before you arrive. Thanks to the support of many visitors we have grown to offer better facilities and better services, with your support we have managed to preserve the flora and fauna of this place, we have provided training on bee care to rural communities and many students have enjoyed our bee tour at no cost, with the aim of contributing to the conservation of bees. Our staff is made up of men and women from Valladolid, proud of its roots and our culture, we are always eager to help you in your plans and in whatever you need. We invite you to learn more about our project, Xkopek Bee Bee Park, on social media. We will be attentive to your contact and any questions you may have before booking. _____________________________________________________ The concept of the Mayan houses in Xkopek arises from the need to preserve our cultural identity. The wooden walls that support the house, the roof of palm leaves, cool on hot days, the space is small but necessary, the use of stone, low doors, etc. are characteristic elements of the Casa Maya, it is intended to offer an experience of everyday life and not at all an option of luxury and extravagance that for nothing is a reality in our culture. The inhabitants of the Mayan lands, given the hot weather, use the hammocks to sleep on a regular basis, you will have one , try it will be an experience for you. On the other hand, it is normal that from the natural elements, leaves and wood, elements are detached from their deterioration, it is also normal to have small visitors, small insects on the ceilings and other spaces of the room, unavoidable in an environment of nature like ours. _____________________________________________ At Casa Maya Faisán you can relax in a hamaca enjoying the afternoon breeze accompanied by the singing of birds around. It is located a few meters from the parking lot, reception and pool. Casa Maya Faisán is a traditional Mayan style room made of wood with structures inside, a palm leaf ceiling, which makes it refreshing on hot days and very safe in the rainy season. The room has a double bed with mosquito net, hammock, fan. The bathroom with traditional chukum finishes and limestone finishes and the ample lighting of the day make this space a relaxing place, the service is accompanied by shampoo and its own making soaps using honey and other natural elements for a delicate care of the skin and hair, at the end of your stay, take them with you at home! The bathroom shower uses a solar heater for hot water service, a rational use of water is requested so that there is availability at all times. When booking you can also enjoy our bee tour, you will get to know the heart of our project, the conservation and care of the native bees of the Yucatan Peninsula. You can get to know a dry cenote inside the property, walk trails to the meliponario to get to know the inside of the hives and you will end up tasting various products from the hive. You'll love that you'll be able to take some at home!, available at our honey and souvenir shop. Guest access The room has common spaces that are shared with other guests: Kitchen (with basic elements), dining room, hammock area, pool, restaurant, campfire area and much more. Two restricted areas for guests are: the dry cenote (visited with a guide in our experiences) and the meliponary (the house of bees, visited with a guide on our bee tour).
