Very quiet, safe neighbourhood and close to all amenities. Some reasons to visit Bermuda: Oktoberfest (October), Rugby Week (November), Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year (take a break from the cold), Race Weekend for all the runners out there - try a marathon, half marathon or the triple challenge (January), The Bermuda Festival - a series of various difference stage shows (January/February), Whale Watching (March/April), May-September the weather is heating up - come lie on our beautiful pink sandy beaches, Cup Match, Non Mariners, BeachFest and Concerts (August). If you don't want to rent a bike or Twizy our property is a short walk away from the bus route (we can get bus tokens for your arrival if you wish). The bus route is on Middle Road at the bottom of Tankfield Hill. If you are going West ie Dockyard or the beaches then stay on the same side of the road as Tankfield Hill. If you are going East, i.e. Hamilton or St George's then cross over the road at the bottom of Tankfield Hill and catch the bus at the layby. The railway trail is a 4 minute walk down the hill from the house with an abundance of walks and runs. Why not rent bicycles and have a great time exploring! The Railway Trail is a pathway that runs throughout the island which you can explore on foot, bicycle or horse. The Trail is the land right of way owned by the Government where the now defunct railway system used to be. No cars or trucks are allowed on it so its very safe. There are many golf courses ie Riddell’s Bay, The Belmont Golf Course, the Fairmont Princess Golf Club and the Port Royal Golf Course each offering their own unique challenges. Dockyard (a British Navy base built in the early 1820’s) is a must see where there is a plaza and shopping concourse as well as a series of excellent museums, pubs, artists workshops, book stores and the like as well as the hugely popular Dolphin Quest operation and you can swim with them. These shops and museums operations are all neatly contained in spectacularly restored historic buildings dotted throughout a park setting on the furthest west end of the island. Fast ferries and buses depart and arrive from the Dockyard facility all day long from Hamilton. The views from The Commissioner’s House are jaw dropping as you can see from one end of the island all the way to the other, with ocean liners sedately negotiating the Two Rock Passage , the sole opening in the reefs large enough to provide safe access to Kings Wharf in Somerset or Hamilton Harbour. The City of Hamilton is very close to our house and has great places to dine and shop, and in the summer months through to October, Harbour Nights on Front Street on Wednesday evenings is an outdoor market event with live music, delicious food and unusual locally made items to buy. Front Street is shut to vehicular traffic and the better shops remain open. Everyone congregates happily til 10 pm. and then drifts off to window-shop, or investigate the night clubs, bars and cafes. Dog and cat live here! Very friendly, very pokey, love to visit with you!
