In a quiet, forested neighborhood that offers privacy and essentials for a relaxing visit. We are a few minutes from the airport by car or about the same from the ferry terminal (can transport or arrange a taxi depending on arrival). Local cabs may be available if needed. You are a 10 to 15-minute walk downtown. If you cannot find what you want there, you probably don't need it! Many have confided in us that Wrangell is SE Alaska’s Best Kept Secret. The space The downstairs of my home has its own entrance, a bedroom w/closet, a full bath, and living area. There is a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, electric kettle, toaster, and rice cooker. Coffee, some teas, and a few condiments are available. There are some dishes, silverware, and a few kitchen gadgets. A small table with chairs provides space for eating. There is a desk for use of a laptop. WiFi is available. There is a TV with ROKU on a cabinet with an electric fireplace for atmosphere and a little heat if needed. Guest access The Wrangell Chamber of Commerce & Visitor's Center is great for resources. M-F, 8-5. Shakes Island Tribal House, the Carving Shed, Nolan Center and Museum are among other points of cultural and historic interest. During your stay I will respect your privacy. If you have questions I’ll do my best to answer. My good neighbors share the driveway. You are welcome to use my outdoor surroundings or relax on the upstairs deck in nice weather. Family Features include an indoor children’s play center, books, games and toys, outlet covers, night lights, stair gate. There is a baby crib, booster chair, and little potty. Guests will be responsible daily for making their beds and general cleanliness of the space, unless this is a long-term stay. Other things to note Check-in time 2:00 pm. Check-out time 11:00 am. Early check-in possible if the room is ready. Later check-out can be considered. Luggage drop-off allowed if needed due to early arrival or late departure. Your personal access to the downstairs entrance locks from the inside. There is a door to the garage, which can also be locked. There is a sliding door between your space and the stairs that lead to the upstairs. There is a laundromat downtown – please ask for directions.
