Description

Experience authentic East Austin in our shaded backyard artist sanctuary. A recently converted jewelry studio is now thoughtfully furnished for maximum comfort and convenience by 2 road hardened artists (a jewelry designer and a touring musician). Start your visit on the porch with a sparkling water or beer or while listening to a record while you browse our insiders guide to East Austin. We are also happy to offer a rare 12pm noon checkout! The space Our kitchenette is stocked with local coffee and organic 1/2 & 1/2 upon request for the mornings, or Palomino coffee shop is just a short 5 minute walk to the end of the block. Our queen sized bed has high thread-count sheets, down and fiber pillows with easily accessible outlets for device charging. The fully modern bathroom is outfitted with organic paraben free hand soap and body wash, and a hair dryer is provided for convenience. We have a small clothing rack and a steamer to help you get ready for your evening. All windows are frosted or have top-down shades for maximum privacy with out sacrificing natural light, while blackout roller shades can be deployed at night. The backyard is a shared space on the property however we give our guests as much privacy as possible which each of the other buildings having their own private outdoor spaces leaving the backyard for you. A local musician lives full time in the second tiny house next to the studio and my husband and I and our infant son live in the front house. You will also share the backyard with our barn cat Banjo who will definitely say hi during your stay. We keep the hot tub cool in the summer months for a refreshing mid day dip to cool off after running around Austin. Still want it hot, just give us a heads up 2 days before the booking and we will turn the heat back up leading up to your stay. I live full time with my husband Andrew, and we have owned this property for 15 years while East Austin bloomed around us. We are both artists, a jewelry designer and touring musician, and frequent travelers. We have stayed in a wide variety of bnb's and hotels and have taken those experiences to try and create a space that is perfectly appointed, comfortable and authentic. We both love Austin and have been firmly rooted in the community of East Austin for the last 13 years, but have been residents of Austin for 20+. Our insiders guide to Austin is a true reflection of the places that make east Austin unique and are often owned by friends, collaborators and colleagues. We want you to have the best experience while visiting the city that we love! We are just 1 block away from the city bus #5 that will take you directly into the heart of downtown in 20 minutes. Guest access You have access to the entire backyard and the entire detached studio. The backyard is shared but we respect your privacy and try to allow you access without interruption. We only use the hot tub when we know our guests are not using it and are out. If we see our guests enjoying it, we're not going to join them and always give our guests space and privacy to enjoy it on their own. There is plentiful free street parking. Parking in the driveway parking can be arranged for special circumstances with advanced approval. Other things to note This is a 190 sq ft studio apartment and it is SMALL, but very well appointed to maximize space, utility and comfort. If you plan on spending your days and evenings exploring the city and want to take time to relax on the property enjoying the ample outdoor space with a coffee in the morning or a dip in the hot tub at night, this is the right place for you. We take maintenance of the hot tub very seriously and you should never have any issues with water quality or cleanliness. We have a tenant in the tiny house that shares the backyard but they will employ their own blackout curtains whenever they notice the tub is in use and they are present.
