Fair Winds and Following Seas is a charming, colorfully-appointed place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of St. John. The house is located in Coral Bay in a private, secluded, and tropical site with a spectacular 20 mile view. The main house has a separate bedroom pod with a queen sized bed and closet. The main building has the living and dining spaces, fully equipped kitchen, and bathroom with an outdoor shower. A two-person spa is on the deck between the two buildings. The space Fair Winds Cottage is located in Coral Bay, on the quieter side of St John. Ideal for couples who want an "away from it all" vacation. The deck and hot tub are great places to see gorgeous sunrises and moonrises, as well as stargaze. Guest access Guest will have access to everything in the main house except an owner's closet and cleaning closet that will remain locked. There is a third building on property, a studio guest cottage, that will remain vacant and locked. Please see our separate "Fair Winds Main and Guest Houses" listing if you are traveling in a group of 3 or 4, or need a second bedroom. We provide beach towels, beach chairs, cooler, and drink jug that you are welcome to take to the beach. Other things to note This property is in a remote location. Once you turn off the main road it is uphill for one mile on a bumpy dirt road with several switchbacks. A 4 wheel drive vehicle with adequate ground clearance is necessary to stay at this property. Guests are met in Coral Bay and shown to the house by a greeter. Guests staying for multiple weeks will get a "brush up" on Saturdays. This includes swapping out dirty linens, hot tub maintenance, light cleaning, vacuuming, and mopping. It is not optional, and guests are asked to vacate the property during that time. There is no landline, and cell phones will pick up an international roaming signal from the British Virgin Islands. We recommend putting your phone in airplane mode and connecting to wifi when using your phone. There is a 12.5% Virgin Islands hotel tax that AirBnB collects and remits on behalf of the owner in addition to the rental rate. All vacation rentals in the Virgin Islands are subject to this tax.
