Guest access El Mar apartment has a large front porch & sits among palms &mangrove in a little natural oasis. Guests can hang laundry on lines in the garden, & park bikes inside the enclosed property. Other things to note Here in Holbox the pace of life is different. This setting of Casa Mar is a natural haven, purposely minimalistic. The aim Is to create a slowed down world, where people are immersed in nature and the authenticity of the land and place. The Jardin is natural, not manicured, providing habitat for birds, pollinators, frogs. A palm palapa with Yucatan hammocks provides a meditative space . Private gated property away from the golfcarts & busy centro. Holbox is still considered an off-the grid travel destination. We have 4 modems from the best service on the island, Telcel, yet Wifi is in & out. They tell everyone the lines are saturated. Being an island, there can be power shortages during peak seasonal demand. (Holidays & July) Please turn off exterior lights when not using the porch, and turn off AC & fans when not in unit. We are all trying to conserve as the island infrastructure is not adequate for the increased demand. No smoking property, for the mutual enjoyment of all guests & home. No parties. Please do not bring strangers into the property. Only registered guests allowed. Quiet hours 10pm - 9 am for the mutual relaxation of all guests & household. No loud music. Guests can rent bikes here in the jardin from Minerva & keep them inside the enclosed property. Down at the beach, look for Alberto Bananas orange palapa for paddleboard, bike, hammock rentals. Spend the day hanging in a hammock for only $40 pesos an hour at his funky palapa, even served fresh coconut. -please see House Rules in listing- No smoking. Smoking in the room will result in a US$100 additional charge, as it is very humid on the island at sea level and it is difficult to remove odors.
