Just steps away from the Palacio de Bellas Artes and Alameda Central, our cosy retreat is perfect for solo travellers or couples seeking an authentic cultural experience and an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city Explore Mexico City's vibrant streets and culture from this unique vantage point! Welcome to our cosy bohemian loft in the heart of Mexico City! Immerse yourself in the authenticity of local life in this unique space with stunning views and an unbeatable location to explore this neighborhood full of history and character. The National Art Museum is right across the street, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes is just steps away. You'll also have close access to all public transportation. Every corner of this vibrant neighborhood tells a story and is infused with character, making it the perfect place to experience the authentic local culture. Please note that our home is located on the fifth floor of a historic building without an elevator. However, we assure you that the panoramic views from the windows make every step worthwhile. Upon entry, you'll find a spacious and well-lit area. The windows offer stunning views of the Torre Latinoamericana, an iconic city landmark you won't want to miss. The original hardwood flooring, though a bit weathered and patched with laminate in some areas (as depicted in the photos), lends a unique character to the space. Our kitchen is fully equipped for cooking delicious homemade meals with fresh local ingredients,You'll find a coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans and a traditional molcajete for preparing Mexican sauces. Also a microwave, as well as a fully functional stove and oven. Additionally, we provide a variety of utensils, plates, glasses, cups, an Italian coffee maker, and cutlery. We believe you'll feel right at home! A nearby market offers fresh ingredients for culinary endeavors. The living room offers a cozy and personality-filled space. Relax in our hammock, perfect for an afternoon of reading or simply enjoying the views and sounds of the city. Additionally, you'll find a bookshelf with a variety of books, including a photography book that captures the essence of Mexico City. Although the sofa is not exceptionally comfortable, we've provided additional cushions to make it more enjoyable. The TV is equipped with Chrome Cast so you can stream your favorite content. Complete with a small coffee table and a reading lamp, this area is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the city. Our spacious bedroom features a queen-size bed equipped with a comfortable mattress, fresh sheets, two pillows, and a duvet for a restful sleep. Additionally, this is the only area in the apartment with blinds that block out the light, ensuring a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. You'll also find two practical bedside tables on each side of the bed. The open closet has hooks for hanging clothes and a large dresser where you'll find an iron for clothes and a hair dryer, so you can keep your appearance fresh and organized during your stay. The apartment has a full bathroom and a half bathroom for your convenience. The full bathroom is spacious and decorated with orange Venetian mosaic tiles that add a touch of light and color to the space. Here you'll find a shower with hot water, soft towels, and a bath mat for your convenience. The half bathroom, located in the living room, is smaller and features blue Venetian mosaic tiles that add a touch of freshness to the environment. Both bathrooms are equipped with facial mirrors, toilet paper, and hand soap. Please note that hot water is only available in the shower of the full bathroom and in the sink of the half bathroom due to water pressure, but we guarantee a relaxing and refreshing bathing experience. In the dining area, you'll find a table with four chairs and a refrigerator with a freezer and ice maker, ensuring you have everything you need to keep your food fresh and your drinks cold during your visit. Our laundry room is equipped to meet your laundry needs during your stay. You'll find the washing machine, a small clothesline with hooks, and a loop that can be placed instead of the hammock if you need more space to hang clothes. Although the washing machine may experience some issues during the cycle, we've provided instructional videos to help you easily resolve them. For your convenience, we provide a supply of laundry detergent and fabric softener. Additionally, there's a broom, dustpan, mop, and buckets to help you keep the space tidy. You'll also find a market cart to facilitate your shopping. The building is part of the iconic Teatro Fru Fru, and while it may appear a bit weathered with the characteristic scent of these spaces, our apartment is well-maintained and offers a comfortable and welcoming space for your stay. Your experience in our city will be unforgettable! Guests will have full access to the entire apartment. Entry is via a key system that will be personally handed over. Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out must be done before 12:00 PM; however, we are flexible with these times whenever possible, so feel free to contact us if you need more time. As it is an old building, we ask that you respect the rules of coexistence, especially when using the common areas. The only common areas of the building are the stairs. For any questions or assistance during your stay, we will be available and happy to help you. We enjoy interacting with our guests and are available to assist with any questions or needs they may have. We offer a comprehensive apartment manual containing all the essential information for their stay. Guests can reach us via mobile or through the Airbnb platform. Response times may vary depending on our daily schedule, but we strive to reply promptly. If you contact us after 10:00 PM, we may respond the next day. Our goal is to ensure you have a wonderful stay! Mexico City is called “The City of Palaces” and most of these palaces are in downtown, making it a stunning area to stay. Almost on every block you will find historical places with different architectural styles, some of them are museums, theaters, churches or restaurants and a few government offices. You may want to take some walking tours with local guides who tell stories about the neighborhood, buildings and streets; also if you like Mexican food and drinking you can tour older restaurants and cantinas. You can find many places to eat and drink, from street food and cantinas to sophisticated restaurants and bars, from typical Mexican food to Mexican signature cuisine and international cuisine; the prices correspond to the kind of place you choose to eat. Of course there is a market with really good and fresh food if you prefer to make dinner yourself. Also, the city center has always been a commercial area, you can find many stores with all kinds of things you can imagine. I like to think that downtown is like a huge department store, and every street is a different department, thus Donceles street is the specialist area of photography and old books, Tacuba street is perfume and scents department, etc. Because of that, you will find many kinds of different people walking or buying in the streets of downtown. Besides, the cultural life in downtown is quite active with several kinds of activities to do: museums, exhibitions, concerts, plays, dance, festivals. There are many things to do in the heart of the city, so I can ensure you won't be bored. Neighborhood Safety: The apartment is situated within the first block of the Historic Center, generally considered safe. However, as in any large city, we advise guests to remain vigilant of their belongings and avoid solitary areas at night. While homeless individuals are common in the area, they pose no threat. Neighborhood Rules: Please adhere to the building's community guidelines and refrain from excessive noise, especially during nighttime hours. Access to Basic Services: Within a few minutes' walk, you'll find convenience stores and a supermarket for your daily needs. Additional Services: Should you require restaurant recommendations or suggestions for places to visit, we're delighted to assist you. Additionally, we offer supplementary cleaning services upon request. Noise Information: Being situated in the heart of the Historic Center, daytime noise levels may be elevated due to traffic and commercial activities. However, nights are typically quieter. Building Information: Our building is a part of the historic Fru Fru Theater, established in 1973. While its architecture reflects the style and charm of its era, some common areas may appear slightly neglected and retain the characteristic odor of older constructions. Notably, our apartment's window featured in the James Bond movie "Spectre," adding a cinematic flair to your stay. Apartment Amenities: Certain walls are outfitted with whiteboard material, perfect for jotting down notes or sketches. Additionally, we provide a kaleidoscope for you to enjoy exploring the architecture from the window (please refrain from observing neighbors).
