It works particularly well for couples wanting extra space, two friends travelling together, small families or anyone looking for a comfortable home base between Belize adventures. You're close enough to town for restaurants, shops and the San Ignacio Market, while the garden setting gives the property a very different feel from staying in the centre of town. Living space The main living areas are naturally ventilated with screened windows and ceiling fans. There's also a dedicated workspace, useful if you need to catch up on emails, work remotely or plan the next day's adventures. Fast Wi-Fi — currently approximately 93 Mbps — is available throughout the accommodation. Full kitchen Iguana Roost has its own fully equipped kitchen, giving you everything needed for anything from a quick breakfast before an early tour to a full evening meal at home. We also provide binoculars so you can get a closer look at the birds and wildlife visiting the garden. Tropical gardens and wildlife Iguana Roost sits within approximately 1.5 acres of tropical gardens at The Tropical Acre Birdlife is part of everyday life here. Hummingbirds, tanagers, woodpeckers and chachalacas are among our regular visitors, along with iguanas, squirrels and other wildlife. You may wake to birdsong, watch hummingbirds from the veranda or hear the occasional howler monkey in the surrounding area This isn't a manicured resort setting. It's a comfortable private cabin surrounded by real Belizean tropical gardens and wildlife — while still being only about 0.8 miles from central San Ignacio. Please let us know in advance if you'll be arriving with a vehicle. Our family lives on the same secure property and we personally welcome our guests. Taxis are readily available if you don't feel like walking. Cat sanctuary Belize's Crazy Tails Cat Sanctuary, operated by our daughter, is located elsewhere on the property. The sanctuary is completely separate from Iguana Roost and cats do not live inside the guest accommodation. Animal lovers are welcome to ask us about the rescue work carried out there. Hosts on site We're not invisible hosts. Our family lives on the property and we personally welcome guests on arrival. We're available when you need us — whether that's arranging a tour, recommending somewhere for dinner or helping with something in the cabin — but otherwise we'll leave you to enjoy your own space.
