This adorable two-bedroom upper-level duplex unit on Ferndale’s east side is a 3-minute walk to downtown Ferndale and a quick ride to Detroit, Royal Oak, Birmingham, and the DTW International Airport. Plenty of free street parking near the premises. The perfect spot for any gathering or getaway! Enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, an Amazon Fire smart TV, French Roast coffee pods + Keurig, Memory Foam beds, fresh linens, in-suite washer/dryer, Solimo bath products, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Message us if there’s anything we can help with! Layout _____________ Our home is a duplex with a few steps up to the common door. Once inside, the door to this unit is located at the top of the stairs to the left. The second floor has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom along with the kitchen and living room. Arrive with Ease _____________ Enjoy a seamless check-in experience with keyless digital access. Check-in anytime that fits your schedule, after 3:00 pm. If you’d like an early check-in, shoot us a message the day before your stay. If no other guest is checking out, you’re welcomed to check-in anytime! Rest in Comfort _____________ Sink into soft, plush memory foam mattresses, hypoallergenic down alternative microfiber comforter, crisp clean linens, and extra blankets for the winter in each of our bedrooms. Stay rested with blackout drapes in each bedroom. Sleeping Arrangements _____________ In addition to two queen beds, our space features a queen size pullout couch and a queen size air mattress. Plenty of extra linens and pillows are available to ensure groups of any size have a comfortable, restful stay. For anyone who intends to have a party, disturb the neighborhood, or in any other way violate our house rules, we want to make clear that: We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us. We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have a fine and possible removal for violations. There is a $750 security deposit authorization hold when your reservation begins. We will charge $300 for the first smoking violation (with possible removal from the unit), and the remaining $450 for the second smoking violation (with guaranteed removal from the unit). Parking _____________ Our street is permit-only after 4 pm, but we have a parking spot for one car for this unit in the rear of our property off the back alley. Feel free to park on the street near the duplex until 4 pm, but after please park in our spot so you don't get a ticket! In addition, there is plenty of free street parking on the blocks around us as well, so parking shouldn't be an issue! Entry _____________ The unit is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock at the duplex front door and on the unit door. To enter each one, enter the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock. When leaving, enter that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock. Our Availability _____________ We are available whenever you need! Please feel free to reach out via the app or website you booked on with any specific questions. For any health emergencies, please dial 911. If a system malfunctions (i.e., hot water not functioning or a light has gone out), please send us a message on the app or website you booked on and we will be sure to address it in as short a time as possible (we usually respond within a few minutes). We also have handymen, electricians, plumbers, and landscapers with whom we work, so for any extenuating circumstances, we will happily bring them out to solve your issues post haste! Extra Sleeping Arrangements _____________ Pullout Couch: Underneath the horizontal seat you will find two fabric handles. Pull them out from under the couch and raise up the extra mattress section from underneath the couch. Remove the couch pillows to make space for two! Air Mattress: Stored in one of our closets, you will find a queen-size air mattress for additional sleeping space. Designed for camping, it’s extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate. You’ll find extra linens and towels in the pullout couch storage compartment as well. Extra Linens: Underneath the chaise section of the couch you will find four bath towels and four hand towels, four pillows, a comforter, and extra sets of sheets and pillowcases for the couch and air mattress. House Rules _____________ We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules: - No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know. - Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm. - Please leave your shoes at the door. - No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies. - No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky. - If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair. - Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help. Please note that this is the upper unit of duplex, so please take of your shoes at the door and try to be respectful of our downstairs neighbors with low volume and voices. Our Neighborhood _____________ Located on a quiet little side street a 5-minute walk from downtown Ferndale, you can find everything you need nearby including the best bars in Michigan, One-Eyed Betty’s, and a ton of yoga studios, coffee shops, artist stores, and more! Also a quick drive to Royal Oak, Birmingham, and downtown Detroit, this is an easy and central location. The most convenient stop is Woodward @ Albany. In addition, the Woodward @ 9-mile road bus stop is also a sub-5-minute walk away for you to catch east/west buses!
