Large windows throughout bring cool breezes and nature into the space, and offer plenty of opportunities for watching the wildlife. A crackling fire in the living room fireplace provides additional charm. Upstairs features a master bedroom w/vaulted-ceiling and a king size bed. A spacious second bedroom has a queen size bed-both have stunning views of Overlook Mountain. The third bedroom is tucked behind the living room on the first floor. Outside, relax with a good book on the covered porch (rain or shine), or enjoy grilling around the hand-built blue stone dining table while family and friends frolic on the great lawn. After dinner or a long day of hiking or skiing, enjoy an evening or romance and star-gazing in the hot tub. No matter the season, the house is perfectly situated to take full advantage of the Catskills. If skiing or snowboarding is your thing, we're 30 minutes from Hunter, Belleayre and Windham Ski Resorts, with cross-country and snow-shoe trails even closer. Summer means canoeing on North South Lake, hiking to Overlook Mountain (trail head just a mile up the road) or a variety of other nearby Catskill trails, tubing in the Esopus Creek, bicylcling to Cooper Lake or around the Ashokan Reservoir, or swimming in one of the many nearby “swimming holes", including Kaaterskill Falls, Peekamoose, Onteora Lake and many others yet to be discovered. Or you can simply hit the tennis and basketball courts (w/children's playground) less than a mile away in the center of town. Cultural attractions within minutes of the house include Woodstock Film Festival, Woodstock Writers Festival, The Byrdcliffe Arts Colony (established 1902) and plenty of antiquing, not to mention “foodie" havens such as Cucina, Shindig, Oriole 9, the Red Onion, and our personal favorite, Peekamoose (well worth the 20 minute drive up 28 to Big Indian). The Omega Institute, Bard College and the Hudson art scene / Basilica Hudson are also 20 minutes away. We are any easy 2-hour drive from New York City, and the house is less than 2 miles from the Trailways bus stop in the center of Woodstock, making it an easy trip whether you arrive by car or bus.
