Durga's Den - Eco-farm Double Cottage Room #1

Our mission at Durga's Den is to create a space dedicated towards a truly sustainable lifestyle. We strive to find solutions to basic needs such as food, shelter, water, energy and community life. Durga’s is located only 15min drive from Ocho Rios, on the North Coast of Jamaica. Its not unusual to see goats and chickens free roaming here amonst luscious greens that we use in our Farm-to-table eating. Located in the rain forest of Fern Gully, our natural canopy provides a breezy and cool retreat. The space Part of a cluster of cottages on the hill overlooking the incredible Ocho Rios hillside and beyond toward the Caribbean sea. Given our natural canopy the place is naturally cool and breezy with no air condition necessary. This double wooden cottage contains two adjoining rooms, perfect for families and friends traveling together. You have your own composting toilet and sink and your own door with balcony. This particular room features the option of two double beds usually combined into a large double bed perfect for friends and travellers. Guest access You will have access to bamboo buildings with rainwater and solar heated water bathroom facilities and incredible views of North Jamaica. You are also welcomed to join us, the other guests and often times international volunteers on the gazebo where we share a cup of homegrown tea, a cool beer and a game of dominos. If you prefer something even more reserved you are welcome to stroll up to our terrace almost 1000 ft about sea level which is usually reserved for yoga, massages and meditation. Organic, vegetarian, vegan, plant-based and Raw meals are all available on request (at a cost) and we give you access to our outside kitchen if you prefer to cook your own meals. Fresh organic fruits and vegetables including a variety rare indigenous Caribbean produce from the farm are available for sale too. During your stay We live on the farm as often do some of our international array of volunteers with the daily sighting of our friendly local staff so there is always someone there. We also host several workshops and yoga classes during the year to which you can participate (at a cost) While having your privacy, you are welcomed to share our daily activities if you wish. We see our visitors as family. Other things to note Lunch and Dinner is not included but in addition to our full kitchen, we have a beautiful clay oven that you can use to bake and roast etc with locally sourced fire wood available for sale on request. On weekdays we usually cook in abundance and so Lunch and Dinner is often available (at cost) if not, please request a desire for meals in reasonable advance.
