Nature Retreat Log House

Lower level of log home. 700 sq ft (65 m2) suite with private patio. Sleeps 3 adults comfortably (if 2 can share a bed). Access to shared hot tub. 35 min to Calgary limits, 53 min to Calgary Airport; 1h to Canmore,  1h20 to Banff National Park Gates; 1h50 to Lake Louise. Wifi, satellite TV, private laundry, well equipped kitchen, full size fridge-freezer and BBQ. Queen size bed in bedroom, double size sofa-bed in living room. Extra twin bed available upon request. The space Your 700 sq ft (65 m2) is located on the lower level of an Alpine-Style Home with a private entrance and private patio overlooking foothills and wetlands. Wake up to a spectacular sun rise every morning and watch the wildlife just outside your window. This is a green home, powered 100% by a solar energy. A solar ground mount is located on the far end of the property. The home is situated on 5 1/4 acres of land and is adjacent to crown land which is a habitat for grizzly, black bears, cougars, coyotes, wolves, moose, and deer. Bear spray and/or bear bangers should be carried at all times when hiking in the area. Guest access Guests will have their own private patio on the lower level but the entire yard, as well as the adjacent crown land, is available to guests including the hot tub. A remote key fob to open and close the driveway gate will be provided. Other things to note We are a quiet couple in our late 50s/early 60s and we live upstairs. We have 3 friendly dogs and 2 cats. The dogs are very good at alerting us and/or scaring away unwanted visitors so you can feel safe with regards to bears and cougars on the property. We also keep honeybees. The apiary has about 25 active bee hives and is surrounded by an electric fence which delivers a jolt of 14,000 volts, enough to scare away a Grizzly bear. The electric fence is very unpleasant to touch by mistake and for this reason, it is not an ideal location for young children to stay unless they are being very closely supervised at all times.
