Farmhouse in a medieval village, Tuscany

In the center of a small medieval village, immersed in the countryside 10 minutes from Casole d'Elsa, a rustic Tuscan-style apartment is rented for short stays. The apartment is located in the heart of Tuscany (see map), so the city of Florence can be reached in 1 hour by car, Siena in 45 minutes, San Gimignano in 25 minutes. Near the village, about 3 km away, flows the Cecina River, where you can swim. For cycling enthusiasts, there are numerous routes. The house was inhabited by farmers who worked for the Guidi counts, who were the owners of the farm and the entire hill. The fireplace has been renovated in order to maintain authenticity and without making any structural changes. In the entrance you can see the remains of what were almost certainly the first walls of the town. Monteguidi was a place of passage for the movements of bishops and ecclesiastics, so much so that it is present in the Vatican Museums' Maps. A few kilometers from the village there is an ancient watchtower "La Torraccia" from which an underground and secret path started to reach Volterra, of which traces have now been lost. Guest access The parking lot is a few meters from the house. The main cities of Tuscany are easily accessible by car, since the apartment is literally in the center of Tuscany (see map), so in an hour you can get to Florence, Siena and in an hour and a half to Pisa. The village is surrounded by nature and the landscape is characteristic and unspoiled. For bicycle enthusiasts, there are numerous routes thanks to the attention of the Municipality of Casole d'Elsa for this green means of transport. Other things to note There is no wifi connection and TV in the house.
