Description

Sweeping views of the Goldcoast and ocean beyond from your bed! Set among the lush gardens of Sky Island Studios. Relax in your private home and garden or enjoy your scrumptious breakfast at our colourful lounge and viewing deck. Located ideally between beach and the hinterland. The space The studio is open plan. The high ceiling and large glass sliding doors create a sense of space and light and make the most of the amazing views of the forests, Goldcoast and ocean. By night you can enjoy views of the twinkling Gold Coast skyline from your lounge, bed or outside terrace. The studio has a Queen bed, private bathroom with shower, lounge area and well-equipped kitchen. The space is ideal for couples but can also accommodate an additional one or two young children; we can provide cots or child mattresses at no additional cost. The lounge area has a couch and flat-screen TV. Free broadband wi-fi is available throughout the premises. Temperatures on the mountain are usually ideal, but air conditioning and electric heating ensure your comfort. During the cooler months, you are welcome to fire up the wood stove. The bed is equipped with a mosquito net though you are unlikely to need it. The kitchen has an electrical stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, kettle and toaster, as well as a coffee plunger and a range of kitchen items and basic cooking ingredients. But if you need a particular kitchen or household item, we will always do our best to provide it. Guest access Guest have exclusive use of their studio, which has its own private entrance, and are free to roam the gardens and Sky Island Lounge. The grounds are lush, colourful and inviting and are surrounded by nature reserves. See if you can spot our resident koalas or the many native birds and listen to the rainforest sounds. Our gardens contain a multitude of native and exotic subtropical flowers, including bromeliads, birds-of-paradise, and many others. You can enjoy your included a-la-carte breakfast at the Sky Island Lounge and cantina or we can bring it to your room if you prefer. The Lounge area is open for you throughout the day. Browse through the books and games on offer and relax on the covered deck or the Sky Island ‘beach’ or viewing deck. There is a fire pit to enjoy the evenings while admiring the shimmering Goldcoast skyline. Other things to note This studio has one queen bed only, but if you wish to bring one or two young children ask us in advance, and we will do our best to provide sleeping materials and anything else you might need. Temperatures at our mountain location are typically about four degrees cooler than at the coast. In the winter months, a jacket or sweater can come in handy for the evening and early morning. The studio has electric heating, but if you would like to fire up the wood stove, we would be happy to provide some firewood or you can purchase it locally nearby. We access natural groundwater pumped deep from below the rainforest. It is fully treated as a precaution and perfect for drinking. For sustainability reasons, we do not offer bottled water as a matter of course but can do so on request. The property has wifi and high-speed NBN broadband (fibre to the curb) throughout. The studio does not have its own laundry, but we gladly wash and dry your laundry and deliver it to your room for a small fee ($10 for a load of up to seven kilo). Safe outdoor private parking is provided. We are located along one of the roads that climb Tamborine Mountain. The road is windy and steep at places and not suited for all heavy vehicles. When driving at night beware of koalas and other wildlife and sometimes foggy conditions. If you are seeking an extremely silent retreat, this may not be what you are looking for. The nights are very quiet, and traffic is low on weekdays, but touring motorcyclists sometimes make themselves heard during the weekend.
