You will have the entire upstairs open plan high ceiling space 120 Sqm with living area, work space with desk and chair and balcony with comfortable floor seaters, table and chairs and a hammock. The Rental Space You will have the entire upstairs open plan high ceiling space 120 Sqm. - Bed Area: King size bed, clothes cabinet and rail. - Bathroom: Hot water shower, sets of towels, soap and shampoo - Living Area: 6 seaters sofa, coffee table and TV, coffee and tea maker, small fridge and small water filter tank - Work Space: Desk and chair - Balcony: Comfortable floor seaters, tables and chairs and a hammock. - Non-smoking room. You can smoke on the balcony and the Smoking Area downstairs. Sustainable Living - We live sustainably so we only use fans (no air conditioner). As the house is near to the sea so we have cool breeze throughout the day. - We drink water from our spring well (drinking quality tested) and have water filter equipment. If you prefer bottled water, we can also arrange them for you for extra costs. Common Areas Downstairs - Lounge area with a set of table and chairs, a set of sofas and coffee table and a pool table - Large garden area with outdoor table and chairs and barbecue equipment Checkin: 15:00 Checkout: 12:00 Cleaning Service - For short stay; daily and weekly, cleaning service is every 2 days. - For Monthly Booking, cleaning service is one time per week. - Cleaning service is between 13:00-15:30 only. Breakfast Service - Simple breakfast served in the kitchen 8:00-10:00. - Simple breakfast includes tea, coffee, bread, eggs and/or Thai vegetarian breakfast such as omelette, rice, noodles and vegetables dishes. - For vegan, allergy or non preference, please inform in advance. - For any request for extra ingredients, fruits or special menu, there will be charges. - Cooking is not allowed during breakfast time. - Breakfast Service is not available for Monthly Booking Promotion. The Kitchen - You’re welcomed to use the kitchen downstairs for cooking small meals, heating up lunch or relaxing. - Kitchen opens to be used from 12:00 to 13:00 and 17:00 to 20:00. You must clean and tidy the kitchen after used. - The kitchen is not opened 24 hours due to cleaning time, privacy and safety and the kitchen door is locked at 20:00. Free Wifi VillaVarin has a Sim Card Router to provide you free Wifi unlimited max speed 20 mbps. You are also welcomed to put your sim card in. There is no landline internet on the island. Island people rely on mobile internet. The quality of the internet on the island depends on where you are on the island and the weather. VillaVarin is a behind a hill and a little bit away from the telephone mast tower so the quality is not so stable but good enough to work online on your computer and do video calls. I, the host, do video calls 4-8 hours per day and the internet has been good and every one or two weeks I may have a bad day where the weather effects the quality of the internet. The best provider for the area is Dtac. Other Services Please note that we provide a homestay, we do not have staff waiting to service you 24 hours like hotels. In your room, there is a Guide Book with information about VillaVarin as well as helpful information about the island and emergency numbers. For general things like renting the bike or emergency such as leak, etc., you can inform the caretaker between 8:00-19:00 Other Guests You can invite people for a meet up for coffee, tea and relaxing but you are not allowed to host a party in the property. Nature and Surrounding Area On a tropical island, you can expect tropical animals; monkeys, birds, insects, frogs, toads, wild dogs and wild animals around the island. They may come for a visit to our compound sometimes but there is nothing dangerous to worry about as we keep our garden tidy and clean with light on at night along footpath. Also, you will be living upstairs away from mosquitoes and insects. The monkeys would come to visit sometimes and the dogs will keep them away. You just need to make sure you don’t leave anything outside the closed door as the monkeys will come to steal your stuff or destroy them. Guest access You can go around the island easily by bicycle, motorbike or taxi. During your stay The Host I'm Jiab, your professional and friendly host. I'm a Thai linguist working online at home as well as a traveler having been to many places around the world enjoying both luxury and low key traveling. I moved to Ko Jum in 2015 building my dream house and living a dream sustainable life. I'm experienced in hospitality industry working as a housekeeper in a 4 star guesthouse in Brighton, UK. I'm a great cook running Thai cooking classes in Brighton for many years. I've trained with health and safety as well as food hygiene certificate. You can be sure of my professional service with friendly Thai culture. If I am at home, I spend half the day looking after the property (in the kitchen downstairs and in the garden) and working online in my room/office in another property next door, spend time with my parents and my pet dogs and cats. I might also be free for a few games of pool/billiards.
