Our sunny great room is your place to lounge and reconnect – link up to the home audio system and sing along to your favorite tunes or cozy up for movie night on the widescreen TV. Later, head outside for s’mores around our massive front yard fire pit. With sweeping views of the Mississippi River valley, our backyard patio is heaven on Earth. Relax with a glass of wine beneath the stars or wake up early to sip coffee as the morning mist drifts across the backchannel. Dine at the historic St. James Hotel, sample local shops and cafes, or visit the Red Wing Shoe store and take a #selfie with the world’s largest boot. Red Wing is a nature lover's paradise. Hike to the top of Barn’s bluff for panoramic views of the driftless region, or test your climbing skills on epic limestone rock faces. Explore the local mountain bike trails and cool off with a Red Wing brew after your ride. Our home is located along the Great River Road, a stunning drive along the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi River. Take an afternoon and explore countless eclectic artist’s towns, wineries, local haunts, and farm-to-picnic-table gems hidden along the way. Guest access No shared spaces. Guests will have private access to our entire home (+backyard patio + front yard fire pit). Other things to note Along with river views-come Train tracks. We live atop a small bluff with tracks below. There are no intersections, so NO honking as they cruise on by. Our grandkids love to watch them and we have become accustomed. Can only really hear them when outside. Note: while older reviews may mention Kitty, we no longer keep our cat on the property while guests are present.
