Located in the upper Mary River Valley in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Cookes Road Cottage is the ideal destination to base your country getaway. Sited high on the end of a ridge overlooking a 5-acre dam, the 120-year-old workers cottage has 360-degree views of quality farming country with the Conondale Ranges in the background. The property itself is 325 acres of creek flats and gently rolling green hills, being the home of the breeding herd for the Waringle Droughtmaster Stud. The space The cottage has recently undergone a major refurbishment, with quality tradespeople using locally-sourced, sustainable hardwood, to create a traditional-looking 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom dwelling with new kitchen and 3-metre deep verandahs on the eastern, northern and western sides. All bedrooms open on to the verandah - a perfect location to enjoy the spectacular sunsets! The master bedroom has private access to the ensuite bathroom, which has been styled with traditional brass and timber fittings. The second bedroom faces north-east, with the third bedroom having additional sleeping opportunities with a double/single bunk bed, with a pull-out trundle underneath. The main bathroom has a more modern appeal, with walk-in shower, large bathtub and two vanity basins. An open plan dining/loungeroom features high ceilings and a wood fireplace, perfect for those winter nights, and the whole house has very efficient ducted, reverse-cycle air conditioning. The kitchen also uses local red cedar and silky-oak timbers and features a butlers pantry and quality whitegoods, including a full size oven, induction cooktop, microwave and full size refrigerator. Gently sloping ramp access, a 15,000 gallon underground rainwater tank and a fully equipped laundry are just a few more of the cottage’s features. Guest access Guests will have access to the whole cottage and house yard, however no access is provided to the working areas of the cattle property.
