The space The house was build in the late seventies as a holiday home and left as a heritage for me upstairs and my brother downstairs. It has been newly renovated and offers a private upper section, with a private entrance, private safe parking and private deck with soundproof underneath the floor. The soul of the property is the spacious deck overlooking the indigenous forest with the brick barbecue, fully equipped with barbecue utensils. An open plan lounge and kitchen, with big windows overlooking the 800 year old Milkwood trees....a very well equipped kitchen, with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The four poster bed is very popular ! Quests book it for their little girls to sleep as "princesses"! The old copper bed, hallstand and sideboard was buried during the war in 1901 and thus rescued from the skirmished earth policy. Each bedroom is furnished with new quality matrasses, hotel standard linen and ample more linen in the cupboards, with enough cupboard space for clothes. The grandfather clock, with the Big Ben chimes, which is on SILENT, contributes to the ambiance of the vintage atmosphere. The Feurich piano ,which was specially made for Rocco de Villiers, Paarl, SA in 1904, from Leipzig, Germany is such a joy, seeing that our National Anthem was composed on it by ML de Viliiers. The soul of the property is the spacious deck overlooking the forest...combined with the BBQ and outside lights...it creates a magical experience ! Other things to note The WIFI stays on for 6 hours during a power outage, as well as rechargeable bulbs, a portable gas stove and a portable rechargeable cooler fan . A newly build brick BBQ on the spacious deck ads to the precious outdoor living are. If using the brick barbecue kindly bought your own wood at Engen garage or Natures Way farm stall. We suggest that you buy Safari Namibian hard wood or Seckel wood, as the wood here is very damp. Indoor heating warms up the house and makes it ideal to work from home.... especially with a new Defy stove and a 9 kg tumbler dryer! Here is a small shop which operates from 9 am - 4 pm, with the highly recommended 💙 Blue Rocks restaurant! On the way here on the R102 is the Nature's Way Farm Stall with fresh, organic, homemade, Free range products 🥑🥝, cheese 🧀 local wine 🍷 and a wide range of 🍞 bread. Also very pleasant to have a breakfast or lunch in the green nursery 🫒🌿 Forest drive is ideal for bird watching, especially the shy Knysna Lourie. The 6 hiking 🥾 Trials are in big demand and very safe within SANPARKS supervision.
