Villa Ohira-so is located just front of the “Ohiradai” station (Hakone Tozan Railway) and the bus stop “Ohiradai station”. The perfect place to explore Hakone. We have two historic Japanese rooms designed by Sukiya (tea house style) & Shoin-zukuri (the traditional style of Japanese residential architecture) for your private use. We prepare discount ! Our Main House was built in 1930, which has many photo points for a once-in-a-lifetime moment, such as the red carpet staircase. How about a photo wedding to travel in Hakone? Please contact us for more details. You can use one tatami room as a bedroom with two semi-double beds. It was originally designed for the tea house, so we have Tokonoma, decorated by chrysanthemum stone and Bonsai. You can use another tatami room with Hori-gotatsu style table as a living room and dining room. Also, we have a small but well-prepared kitchen and a toilet with bidet function. Our main attraction is a fantastic private natural hot spring experience of Ohiradsai Onsen. You can enjoy hot spring by Open-air rock bath and In-door bathroom with Kodai Hinoki Buro(the bath tub made from ancient Japanese cypress which are the best quality material for bathing) Our Onsen facilities are completely private, we do not share them with anyone including Annex and Main House guests. Villa Ohira-so is an extension part of the Main House (Currently operate as Spa at Yamaguchi House: Advanced reservations only). The Main House was built in 1930, and Villa Ohira-so was built in late1940s. Both properties are registered as a tangible cultural property by the Japanese government in 2015. When the Main House was built, it was named Ohira-so. So, we named Villa Ohira-so by their historic story. You can see an original sign of Ohira-so at the entrance gate. Owner of the house, Yamaguchi family is the founder of Fujiya Hotel, the oldest western style hotel in Japan located in Miyanoshita, Hakone. During the days of occupied Japan after WWⅡ, Fujiya Hotel was occupied by GHQ. At that time, the Yamaguchi family decided to build Japanese rooms as a guest house to welcome GHQ’s officers and they demonstrated Japanese culture. The owner is same person but please do not go another accommodation. House rules (1)How to use our rooms ①Smoking is prohibited in this room and inside the house grounds. Dropping cigarette butts could cost you an JPY15,000. ②When you check out or go out the house, please make sure to turn off lights and air conditioners. Please help us conserve energy. ③ No Pets are allowed in our house. If you have a guide dog, please let us consult. ④Please don't make a loud noise or music. Claims may come from the neighborhood. Please be quiet especially after 10pm. ⑤Please don't open the door with " Staff Only " sign. ⑥Please be sure to separate the garbage to 1) Burnable garbage 2) Unburnable garbage 3) Pet bottles, Cans, Glass bottles ⑦Please remove your shoes before entering house ⑧Please don't eat and drink on the beds and the futons. ⑨We will charge extra cost if there is excessive dirt or damage. If it is too hot, please use " Cold Water" to regulate the temperature. (4)How to use our Toilet ①Please don't flush any other objects except toilet paper. ②Please throw toilet paper in the stool. If you flush much toilet paper at the same time, the toilet may stuck. So please flush toilet paper bit by bit. ③Please flush the toilet after using it twice. ④If the toilet is clogged, please try to use toilet plunger before flush the toilet many times. ⑤Contact us immediately when the toilet is clogged. Thereʼs a trick to use the toilet plunger. (5)Other attentions ①Please don't enter our main house 's areas. ②Please don't leave any food in our garden. Wild animals such as wild boars may approach. ③ It is possible to park a car in the house. But please be careful to park because there are a sharp curve and the road of low visibility. If you are worried about, please use a pay parking lot. ④We have a shape slope at the edge of the garden. So please pay enough attention to safety. ⑤It is free stay with a child when we don't prepare any equipment like a guest towel. If we need to prepare some equipment, it need to cost JPY2,000 per a child. 【Q & A】 Q. Is it possible to check in early or check out late? A. It depends on the vacancy on the previous day. It will be extra fee if possible. Please contact us if necessary. Q. Can storage luggage before check in or after check out? A. It depends on the vacancy and the time. Please contact us at least 1 day before. The storage place may have no rain shed depends on the booking situation. There's no staff there so please keep valuable items yourself. Please notice that we don't take responsibility if you lost or get any trouble on your luggage. Q. Do you charge child rate? A. The child under 6 year old can stay for free(without bedding). 1 adult can travel with 1 child for free. If the child under 6 year old need bedding (bed or futon), we'll charge the fee as 1 adult. If the child without bedding need facilities like towel and toothbrush, we'll charge extra 2000JPY per one. Q. We are 3 guests, how about the bedding you will prepare? A. We will prepare 2 semi double beds (195x120cm) plus 1 single size futon. We'll set the futon in living area with tatami. Q. How to get the key? A. We'll send the passcode information 1 day (in the late evening) before your arrival. Q. Does the hot spring for private use? Do we need to share with others? A. Our Onsen facilities are completely private, we do not share them with anyone including Annex and Main House guests. Q. How to access to the BNB from the nearest station? A. Ohiradai station just in front of our BNB. We'll send you guide book URL with detail route after you finish booking. Please check the guide book carefully. Q. Is there any parking available? A. You can park 2 cars in our BNB for free. The parking space is without roof. Our parking space is along the road side so it's a little difficult to park. If you worried, you can use the parking nearby with extra fee. You may need to make reservation in advance. You can check details from our guide book. Q. Is breakfast included? A. The facility is basically for room-only stays. However, a paid chef service is available (booking closes two weeks in advance), and some plans include breakfast. Q. Is the host staying at the accommodation? A. Our facility operates as a self-check-in system.
