Description

A yurt is a beautifully designed structure that gives you a unique holiday experience and we’ve taken the luxurious route so no roughing it! Curl up on the couch in front of the best views in the valley, cook a feast in the high end kitchen, stoke the wood stove and rest peacefully each night in luxurious bamboo bedding. Stay connected with WiFi or choose to disconnect and immerse yourself in the beauty of Kicking Horse Yurt’s surroundings. The space With stunning views across the Columbia Valley to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the Dog Tooth Range, you can spend your evenings picking your lines for the next day of skiing, hiking or biking. This luxuriously appointed yurt offers a well equipped chef’s kitchen, a spacious bathroom with custom tile shower, bamboo bedding on the king size bed, a Canadian goose down duvet, a wood burning stove to provide classic mountain ambiance, and of course, spectacular views. Challenge your partner to a game of cribbage or chess or pull down the 80” screen for cinema quality movie nights after a day of adventuring. Slip into the hot tub for a soak or just relax on the deck with a good book while the song birds keep you company. With all the comforts of home combined with the calming circular design and lofted ceilings of a yurt, you’ll be sure to relax and enjoy a unique and peaceful getaway. Guest access Guests of Kicking Horse Yurt have exclusive access to the entire yurt, the hot tub and the wrap around deck. It’s a nice private location with no buildings or roads in direct sight. Other things to note Golden is a wild and mountainous place full of wild animals so the utmost respect must be taken to ensure our animals stay wild and our guests stay safe. Do not under any circumstance leave outside: food, garbage, recycling or anything else that could attract bears, cougars, wolves or other animals big and small. Thank you very much for your cooperation with this :) Guests must bring their own drinking water, 4 & 15 litre jugs of water can be bought at IGA Grocery Store in Golden. Please be conservative with your water usage as we are on a well in an area that doesn’t have an abundance of water. Please use all the water you need and none that you don’t. You are responsible for lighting the wood stove (this might include using an axe to split some kindling) and keeping a strong fire burning at all times. If the yurt is allowed to freeze there will be frozen/burst pipes which will result in tens of thousands of dollars in damages. I give you step by step instructions on how to use the stove and 99.5% of all guests have no problem with it at all but if you aren’t sure of your wood stove skills please let me know right away, it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to keep the wood stove going strong 24/7 during sub-zero degrees Celsius weather. The yurt is accessible with a regular vehicle but winter tires are recommended, it is actually the law in BC to have winter tires (and for good reason!).
