Description
A luxury lodge situated on the banks of the Heys brook some 2,5km's into the valley offering a uniquely exclusive getaway or a stayover on the way to and from the Kruger National Park. The open plan lodge opens out entirely to the expansive outdoor areas & occupies some 900 m². The well-appointed bedrooms are strategically scattered around the lodge. Big skies, rolling vistas and privacy await you. The space The lodge has numerous verandas and decks. A fully equipped open plan kitchen is an obvious central gathering area. An outdoor boma area and natural rock pool in close proximity to the lodge too encourages social gatherings. The open plan lounge, dining room and bar benefit from the wood fireplaces. Red wine - or freshly brewed cappuccinos - accompanied by crackling wood fires are as synonymous with winter as the sounds of the river and riverine bird life are with summer. All the bedrooms are furnished to the same standard and have similar proportions, occupying some 60m² of bedroom, dressing room, bathroom, outdoor shower and veranda. All have fire places, most having fires in the bathrooms too. All rooms have private verandas and either mountain, river or bush views. The twin outdoor showers have remained a highlight since the lodge was built in the last century - 1999. Each bedroom can be configured as two twins or one king size. Different weight duck-down duvets are changed for summer and winter, with all beds having electric blankets. Guest access Heys Lodge residents have exclusive use of this lodge as well as the Melrose Summer House and rock pool area. All residents have access to and are able to explore the 1300ha estate. Other things to note Heysbrook Country Lodge can only accommodate three groups at any one time in each of the two lodges and the one bedroom cottage. Privacy and exclusivity are therefore ensured. The only noises and lights you will experience are those which we make ourselves or from our resident wildlife or from our night time skies.
