There are few places like that in the world and we hope you will enjoy this amazing experience You will be able to rent a whole house (120m2 with outside garden, rare in Naoshima), from the mid 50’s, 5 mns walk away from Miyanoura port, gateway to nearby islands such as Teshima, Inujima, Shodoshima and continue your discovery of the Seto peninsula by Ferry. Those islands are also called Art Islands and are a part of consortium including Naoshima called “Benesse Art House project”. After having an amazing long day will be able to soak yourself into the “I Love 湯” bathhouse decorated by Shinro Otake. Also 5 mns away from the house, you will find the only well furnished supermarket (Coop) of the island to shop for groceries and have an amazing diner at home. Our house is at the top of levelled street, surrounded by mountain and goes along with the mood of the island. Carefully redecorated by Juliette who after having worked for 10 years as Visual Merchandising in one of the most famous luxury fashion brand, wanted to make this place a place of relaxation by blending Japan and Europe as much as possible. We hope that your art journey will also continue inside. The house is equipped with all necessary beddings, can accommodate up to 6 persons, and is fully ready for you to have a great time. Naoshima is the most profound place in Japan where art and nature blend perfectly. Feel free to wander around and enjoy the work of many famous artists, such as Tadao Ando, Kusama Tsubaki, and Li Yuzheng, while entrusting yourself to nature.We hope you will have a great experience in one of the few places in the world like this. You can rent out a quaint mid 50's house (120 square meters with an outdoor garden that is rare on Naoshima), located a 5-minute walk from Miyaura Port.Enjoy a further discovery trip to the Seto Peninsula by ferry based in Miyanoura Port, which is also the gateway to nearby islands such as Toshima, Inujima, and Kojima. The islands are called Art Island and form a consortium (joint venture) with the Naoshima of the "Benesse Art Family Project". After a fun and fulfilling day, relax in the public baths of I Love, an art facility where artists can actually bathe. It is also a 5 minute walk to Coop, the only fully equipped supermarket on the island. Buy a full grocery basket and enjoy a leisurely meal with your cooking skills in the home kitchen. Our home sits at the top of a quiet street, surrounded by mountains and giving it a unique island feel. Juliette, a 10-year visual merchandiser at Chanel, has carefully renovated the place with the desire to bring the best of Japanese and European culture together to make it the most relaxing place I hope your art journey will continue. We also have necessary bedding for up to 6 guests and hope you have a wonderful time. Other things to note - Welcoming : You will have to meet our local friend, Hide san, at his workplace right in front of Miyanoura port (will send a quick map before you arrive) to get the keys and get the check in done. More - Upon arrival: At my friend Hide's office in front of Miyanoura Port, please pick up the keys and check in.(I will send a simple map before arrival). - Keys : Automatic check in with lockbox containing the keys - will send code / instructions before your arrival ! - Bathroom : It is recommended to take quick showers as hot water in Naoshima is precious. Above 3 people, we highly recommend to do so ;) - Bathrooms: Hot water is very valuable in Naoshima.Please take a short shower.
