Na Okić - a private forest oasis

The space Welcome to Okić! Only 30 minutes from Zagreb and Airport, Karlovac or Samobor, and 15 minutes from Jastrebarsko and highway exit Zdenčina, this secluded place in the forest hills is a paradise for nature lovers looking for a getaway retreat. The traditional 100-year-old tiny cabin (35 m²) with a summerhouse has an eco character and offers a close connection to the nature. Enjoy the shade or the starry skies from the cabin's porch or from several sitting spots in the garden. Compactly designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, we hope you’ll enjoy every part of your stay at Okić. The cabin consists of the ground floor, a sleeping loft and a porch. The ground floor consists of a living space with a kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower. The cabin has a rainwater-in-pipe system (both hot and cold). Drinking water is available from a water dispenser. In the small but well-equipped kitchen there is a big fridge, as well as a glass ceramic hob (2/1) and an oven, a big sink, a kettle and cookware: pots and frying pans, dinnerware, cutlery, different kitchen utensils, caffettiera (moka pot), napkins and more... An antique cupboard contains herbs from our herb garden, tea, black coffee, sugar, salt, different spices, oil, vinegar etc. There is also a breakfast-bar table for dinning and sitting sofa. A wooden stove and an electric heater are there for colder days (wood is provided), and a fan for warm summer days. Stairs specially designed for tiny spaces lead to a romantic sleeping loft under the roof. With the king size bed in the middle and 2 mattress on the platform under the slope, it works great for a couple or a family with kids or a group of friends. The loft has a small balcony with an amazing view of the valley and Zagreb in distance. Guest access If you like cherries, the best time to visit is in May or early June when our fruityard is covered in all shades of red. Okić is also known for its native variety of cherry "Okić cherries". Feel free to explore and enjoy in the spacious floral garden. Have a lovely spread on a huge wooden table with the closest one(s) in the open summerhouse. You can cook outdoors on the gas stove or make a grill. Feel free to light a fire for a snack in the firepit. Have a breakfast under the pergola. During hot summer days, enjoy the relaxing solar shower surrounded only by pure nature, and pick something for an afternoon tea in the herb garden. A well-equipped garden provides playground for kids with space to express themselves through outdoor possibilities like climbing, playing in the sand, or just hanging out in the big net hammock. House has also a corner with books, games and toys. Renting a day for peaceful hanging out with friends during the day, make a barbecue, celebrations, team building and similar occasions is possible at extra fee for 6-30 people. Thank you! Other things to note According to Croatian law all guests must show their ID/Passport upon entering the object. The road to Okić cabin from the nearest village – Novo Selo Okićko – (cca. 1km) is a bumpy and unpaved forest road. If it’s a long and really cold winter, the forest road could be frozen. There is only one neighbour nearby, with dogs in the yard.
