The house is an ancient one made of stone, and in many cases, we have retained elements that help you to understand her story, as well as the people who have lived inside her walls! For example, you can not miss the graffiti on the face of the home. Not only does it convey a political sentiment from another era, but it also allows a peek at the raw emotion of life for a young man. We were careful not to disrupt this, as many people of the neighborhood feel connected to the past through this visual reminder. Another "keeper" for us was a total no-brainer... the ancient floors in the upstairs bedrooms. Not only do we think they are fantastic (despite being a bit uneven), we love that they are original and authentic. The renovation is newly accomplished, with heat and air-conditioning having been installed as well. We are quite proud of what we accomplished in the bathroom here. Bathrooms in a house so old were quite small, so the necessity to utilize the space wisely was imperative, and we have tried to make it well-appointed to complement its diminutive size! The stone the house was built from was exposed in the shower during the renovation and is a reminder of its adaptability. With shelf space for toiletries, places to hang shower items, and a heated towel rack, you can relax in the soothing rain-head shower. The bedrooms are large, airy, and comfortable with plenty of room for belongings, and the living and dining room can easily accommodate the maximum number of guests comfortably. The kitchen is well appointed with the tools you might need to prepare and enjoy a meal with local ingredients.
