(up to November) You get the whole ground floor: 3 beautiful bedrooms, bath, large lounge with wood fire, kitchen, dining area, gym, pool and BBQ area. You feel like you are miles from civilization yet is deceptively close to the CBD. There are walks, amazing mountain vistas, waterfalls, stunning valleys - the list goes on.. A beautiful space in a beautiful place! So close to Hobart City and MONA yet immersed in the Tasmanian countryside, this stunning, architecturally designed home on 15 acres is constructed from over 6500 mud bricks/over 30 ton of rare Tasmanian timbers including: Celery Top Pine/Huon Pine/Sassafras and Blackwood, glass and masses of local stone and slate. The vista is nothing short of spectacular being surrounded by large mountains on 3 sides and beautiful gardens. This is not a shared space as you get 3 beautiful bedrooms (single only available in bedroom 1 when 7 people book unless requested plus small fee for set up), kitchen, dining area, lounge area with wood burning fire, lovely bathroom with bath and full gym - all in a self contained area on the ground floor. Have a bubble bath in crystal clear Tasmanian spring water from our creek, go for a bush-walk through pristine Myrtle forests, watch the antics of our ducks in the dam or have a BBQ in your own entertainment area by the pond. Towels, hand towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, tea, coffee and milk are provided. A FANTASTIC PLACE TO WATCH THE SOUTHERN LIGHTS!! There are loads of wildlife regularly on view: Kangaroos, Wallabies, Bandicoots, Kookaburras, a resident Echidna and even Platypus (approx. 3 times per year)! Perfect for a weekend away or as a base for your Tassie adventure. Our personal mission is to ensure that our guests are very well looked after and make the most of their Tasmanian vacation. Nothing is ever too much trouble! BBQ/entertainment area, above ground pool (available from December 15 - April 15) and amazing gardens. Beautiful sitting areas are dotted around the property. You have the whole ground floor of the house which is self contained. We pride ourselves on our hospitality so we will meet and greet you, help you with your bags and light your fire every night (if wanted). Our level of interaction is totally up to you. We have a very extensive knowledge of Southern Tasmania and are more than happy to plan your day for you - every day!. Collinsvale is a very quiet rural area (yet so close to the city) set in an amazing valley which is surrounded by mountains on 3 sides. Collinsvale has some amazing walks through rainforest and bushland. We are 10 minutes drive to MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), less than 15 mins. to shops and supermarkets (Northgate, Glenorchy), 5 mins drive to the beautiful Myrtle Forest, 25 mins drive to Hobart City and 40 mins drive from/to Hobart International Airport. You will need a car as there is no public transport. There is ample parking on the property. We offer tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, microwave, toaster, rice cooker, induction stove, electric wok/small oven in your kitchen. Glenorchy is only a 12 minute drive with an extensive range of shopping including Coles and Woolworths. Australia has 3 major Network Providers: Telstra, Optus and Vodafone - we recommend a Telstra or Optus SIM card as you get the best coverage in Tasmania.
