La Torretta is part of Toscana a Due—a medieval tower with a huge garden & olive trees, right in the heart of San Quirico, overlooking the Val d’Orcia. The 1000-year-old building has been redesigned as a blend of heritage & antique luxury. With our unique tailored concierge service and a warm welcome into our family’s life, we share our traditions, history, and Tuscany’s hidden treasures with you. The space “La Torretta” has four floors with one room on each floor and two entrances. The outside area includes a big garden with olive trees and an outside seating area/patio. The rooms are equipped with antique Tuscan furniture, top-quality bedsheets, luxurious bathroom products and Tuscan delights from our family’s farm. The property also has two options for parking - a private, gated parking area, or free public parking, both right outside the premises. Please keep in mind that this is an original medieval tower. This means that all floors are connected through narrow and relatively steep stairs. While it does not happen often, electricity outages may occur. We offer you a private concierge service, where we help you plan your entire stay in Val d’Orcia - activities and experiences, book our favourite local restaurants for you, give you the most scenic driving routes, best towns to visit, etc.. Upon request, and additionally to your stay, we offer authentic Tuscan experiences, which are exclusively for our guests. These include our beloved pasta class and convivial Tuscan dinner, boutique winery visits and tastings, truffle hunting, a farm tour of our family’s traditional Tuscan farm & farm-to-table tasting, visits to our family-owned archeological site and Etruscan tomb, olive oil degustations, and so much more! If you plan to check in at a later time, please communicate this to your host pre-arrival. Please communicate your approximate time of arrival to your host at least 24 hours before you arrive and message your host about 45 minutes before you arrive. Again, please keep in mind that this is an original 1000-year-old medieval tower. This means that all floors are connected through narrow and relatively steep stairs. Moreover, during summer season (usually July/August) the top floor (bathroom & living room) might heat up during the day as it’s more exposed to the sun than the other floors. We have AC on the first floor (kitchen) and third floor (bedroom), but please keep in mind that Italian systems might not have the same power as American ones. Also, please remember that we are in the countryside, so insects such as mosquitoes, ants, flies, etc. are absolutely normal to be around.
