Beautiful Cottage on the Bay, Isle of Islay

Newly renovated, this beautiful cottage is perfect for couples or a family to explore all that Islay has to offer. Situated on the bay at Portnahaven, you have the sheltered beach a couple of minutes from the house is perfect for children to play! Sit at the table in the lounge or the bench outside & watch the seals swimming & sunbathing, local fisherman in the boats and relax! A variety of whisky distilleries, explore outdoors, enjoy local crafts & the pub just a short stroll around the bay! The space Portnahaven is a small fishing village with a calm, beautiful bay that the lounge and master bedroom overlook. Perfect for seal spotting and the beautiful sunsets! Set in a row of cottages, our 2 bedroom cosy cottage offers a luxury get away and perfect base for exploring the island. The master bedroom to the front has a king bed and enjoys stunning views of the bay. The second bedroom has a small double with single bunk over, ideal for families. We can arrange a travel cotbed, baby bath and bumble seat for infants and have a small selection of children’s books, games and Lego for children to enjoy. Enjoy the log burner with a dram of local whisky after a day of exploring or a bbq in the back garden with stunning views! The cozy lounge has a dining table by the window where you can watch the seals play in the bay whilst having breakfast and the sunset during dinner over the sea. The bathroom has a large shower and there is a non slip mat and suction handles that can be put down for any guests requiring a little additional support. Weekly deliveries of local fish and fruit & veg from local suppliers can be arranged. The local fishermen will let you pick your lobster or crab straight from their baskets at the pier. A local craft shop sells the perfect souvenirs. The local pub is a short stroll around the bay serving tasty food in the afternoon through to evenings. Port Charlotte is 10 minutes drive and Bowmore 20 minutes drive. Please note we are a pet friendly property but we do ask that pets are not allowed on beds or furniture. We do provide a doggy bag with useful items like dog bowl, dog towel etc for our furry guests and a sheepskin rug that they can enjoy lying in front of the fire on, that is machine washable and can be switched for our non pet guests. There are steep steps at the back of the house so we would advise any guests with young children or that aren’t confident with steep steps to use the front entrance. Guest access Parking is to the rear of the house although you can drive to the front on arrival to offload luggage and any guests who wish to avoid the steep steps at the back. We have a bench at the front of the house for you to enjoy the stunning views of the bay. At the back of the cottage is a private parking bay and a tiered garden with great views of the sea. There are steep steps down from the parking bay to the back door. A handrail is there for assistance. Registration Details 230916-000023
