Bakkakot lodge enjoys beautiful scenic view over the river Sog, Icelands biggest fresh water river. Our large veranda with hot tub and outdoor kitchen overlooks the river. The Lodge is on the Golden circle route close to the main attractions, Thingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss and Skalholt. In the neighbourhood you find horse riding trails, golf courses and hiking trails. Selfoss town with good supermarkets, shops, cafés and restaurants is a 15 min drive from the house. The river Sog runs from Thingvallavatn lake, Icelands biggest lake. The Lodge was renovated in 2022. Open space living room, dining and kitchen area. Smart TV with Netflix, wifi and Sonos sound system. Three double bedrooms, all with 140x200 cm double beds. Parking in private circular driveway in front of the lodge. Geothermal water heating keeps you warm in coldest weather. The kitchen is fully equipped with induction stove, oven, fridge, freezer, Smeg espresso machine, Nespresso and french press. Toaster, kettle and microwave oven. Utensils, glasses and tableware. Bathroom with shower and a washer/dryer. Linen and towels are provided. Hot tub with geothermal water, outdoor shower and veranda with furniture. In the winter you can enjoy the northern lights from the hot tub and veranda. Outdoor kitchen with gas bbq grill. The house is very private and peaceful in a grown private land on the riverbank.
