Zenkoji temple in Takayama welcome visitors from all over the world to stay. We are the temple offer the space you to retreat and pause for discover yourself. This room does not have the private bathroom and shower. guest can use the common shower, washstand and toilet. Those common space is a little far from the room and the corridor is very cold in winter. This room does not have a Japanese garden view and also the room is face to the main road. It might be noisy sometime. The space Zenkoji temple in Takayama is a temple of Jodo sect with a history of more than 100 years. The lodging, that was for pilgrim as origin, is open for modern travelers keeping the spirit of old days. The life of historic wooden buildings is very simple, no luxury or comfortable. However, we are trying to find the important things that we forget in our modern life. Guest access Guests can use the following places. · Temple main hall · Lounge (dining space, sofa and Irori space ) · Kitchen (refrigerator and dish and goods) ・Japanese style bath tub space( Reservation on the day） (During 10:00am to 4:00pm, the shared bath cannot be reserved for cleaning) During your stay The local staff is always on standby as the guide of local information, and event in temple. Other things to note *Meals are excluded. * Please ask us if you want to leave your baggage before check in time 16:00 pm to leave their luggage but can not use rooms until checking in. After checking out, guests cannot enter any rooms(including kitchen or toilet), but can leave their luggage at the entrance until 2:00pm. *It can be very cold in the winter. there is a heater inside of the room but the temple itself is very large and other space and some of common area are not heated. Please bring warm clothes if you are coming during winter. *We "Temple Hotel Zenko-ji" can normally host limited number of five groups a day. Unlike other hotels or guesthouses, there aren't a lot of rooms. To fully satisfy your stay at the temple, please understand that we prepare for your visit right after your reservation, and cancellation fee will be charged accordingly.
