Downtown Lexington and Rupp Arena are just a 25-minute drive away. If you’re interested in learning more about the area, you can take a trip to the Ark Encounter, a one-of-a-kind museum in Petersburg, KY, featuring a full-size replica of Noah’s Ark. This was our family home for 35 years, and I live nearby. If you have any questions or need anything, just let me know. I’m here to make sure you have a wonderful time. One thing to keep in mind is that we don’t allow wild parties or events. Family reunions and birthday gatherings are fine, but they should be done in a respectful manner and don’t involve additional guests staying overnight. Oh, and one more thing - the house is located in a wooded area, so you might hear some coyotes howling at night, birds chirping, woodpeckers drumming, and owls hooting. You might also spot some wild animals like geese, ducks, deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, squirrels, moles, mice, snakes, foxes, turtles, wasps, bees, ticks, flies, mosquitoes, and other bugs. I can’t guarantee that you’ll see all of them, but if you do, it’s just nature’s way of showing off! Other things to note 🌲 Welcome to The Stone & Cedar Lodge! The roof of the back porch has solar panels that heat the pool on sunny days. A solar-heated pool is usually 8-12 degrees warmer than an unheated pool in the same area, so you can swim from April to end of September. During the day, the pool pump runs from about 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. I have enough firewood for you to enjoy a cozy fire in the fire pit every evening. It is super easy to built a small fire. In the shed, you will find a propane torch along with cardboard, dry firewood, cushions, and marshmallow sticks. Feel free to use the bikes and scooters in the shed. Safety helmets ⛑️ provided The gazebo lights turn on at dusk for four hours (unless there's a power failure or you want to change the setting). Your kids will love climbing, sliding, and swinging on the custom-built play fort. The big upper deck has a trap door. Adults and kids also enjoy playing basketball, cornhole, or a game on the 7’ pool table. Quick amenities safety overview: We are absolutely thrilled to host you.
