Other things to note The inspiration for the name Klutina Kate's Bed and Breakfast not only comes from the Klutina river but also the owners mother. Kate wanted to honor her mother, Jean Ashby Huddleston, who used the moniker "Klutina Kate" for a popular column she produced for a local newspaper. Jean Ashby Huddleston was a college teacher, historian and life long Alaskan.
