Wander rolling pastures, hike forest trails, sled in winter, or stargaze in silence—this is a countryside retreat designed to restore and inspire. The space The Barn Loft at Chandlery Farm is a light-filled, 1,200-sq ft retreat above our main barn, thoughtfully designed for comfort, style, and stillness. With sweeping views from every window, it’s perfect for two couples or a family of up to six. Inside, you’ll find a fully outfitted chef’s kitchen (Hallman stove, Bosch appliances, French press, drip coffee maker, microwave, pantry), a cozy living area with a red Vermont Castings gas stove, and two queen bedrooms—each with an available single floor mattress for kids or extra guests. The primary suite features a private balcony and private full bath; the second bedroom has its own full bath as well. Curated with artisan details, the Loft features handmade Revolutionary-era reproduction beds, high-thread-count linens, soft towels, antiques, and handwoven rugs. Amenities include Apple TV, DVD player, books, games, sleds, Wi-Fi, a solo stove, gas grill, and a full-size washer/dryer. Outdoors, explore 140 acres of private hills, fields, and forests bordering 700 acres of Dartmouth College conservation land. Walk past historic stone walls, picnic by the pond, or wander through flower gardens and old farm foundations. In every season, the Barn Loft invites you to slow down. Sled or cross-country ski in winter, hike or bike in spring, bask in summer sun, or witness the unmatched foliage of a Vermont autumn. Need more space or a second place nearby? Check out our Guest House at Chandlery Farm (Airbnb listing 23699551) just down the hill—close enough to connect, far enough for privacy. Guest access Guests have full private access to the Barn Loft and the surrounding grounds. You'll need a vehicle—our rural location means ride-shares or taxis aren’t really practical. Our expansive trails and pastures, small pond, and gardens are all yours to explore. As with most places in this part of Vermont, the last mile includes a scenic gravel road and driveway. It's well-maintained, but we recommend planning seasonally—especially in winter or mud season—for a smooth arrival. Cell service is limited, but our high-speed Wi-Fi supports calling, streaming, and Zoom. A landline is available for local or emergency use. Other things to note Chandlery Farm is both a peaceful retreat and a working landscape, with nature and animals woven into the experience. You'll likely spot our Scottish Highland cattle grazing the pastures—they're gentle, photogenic, and a guest favorite. You may also see farmers tending to the herd, always respectful of your space but present somewhere on the land most days. The Loft sits above our main barn, near gardens, pastures, and trails. While private and quiet, the occasional moo, the hum of a tractor, or a neighbor riding through on horseback or bike are all part of life here—something our guests find charming. Expect a true Vermont setting: Seasonal access: Our gravel road and driveway are well-maintained but require AWD/4WD and/or snow tires in winter or mud season. Limited cell service: Wi-Fi calling is essential—please enable it before arrival. A landline is available for local and emergency use. Internet: We now have fiber, so the internet is reliable for Zooms and streaming. Access: The Loft is reached via exterior stairs and is fully private. You’ll find maps in your welcome guide to explore our 140 acres and the adjoining 700-acre Dartmouth College conservation lands. Whether you're out walking the fields, stargazing by the fire pit, or curled up by the stove, this is a place to reconnect—with nature, quiet, and each other. Registration details MRT-10126712
