Only a 2-minute walk to a choice of pubs, most serving food and a couple of restaurants and tea rooms. It is less than a mile to Cragside House and Gardens which sits on the edge of the village, a marvellous National Trust site with something for all ages. No trip to Northumberland would be complete without a day trip up to the Northumbrian Heritage Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where miles of sandy beaches and historic castles await. Or travel over to Hadrian’s Wall and explore the remains of the Roman Forts, the wall itself or visit The Sill. Of course Northumberland also has the fabulous highly acclaimed Dark Sky Park around Kielder, all within easy reach of Rothbury. This friendly and diverse county has been voted ’The best county to visit’ in the 2018 British Travel Awards and you can be sure of a warm welcome around the county. Beach 19¾ miles.
