Situated on our premises but detached from the main house, our cottage provides complete privacy even being in the heart of Suffolk Park little beach village. The fully fenced wrap-around garden is adorned with lush tropical plants and boasts a private entrance with a lock code gate. The fresh, stylish, and clean space has its unique character and has been thoughtfully designed with a mix of upcycled furniture, vintage pieces, and new items to create a chill and inviting ambiance. As a discerning traveler myself, I understand what guests desire in a rental accommodation. As such, we continuously upgrade and improve our space to ensure that our guests feels cosy to return to after a day at the beach, a hike in the natural parks, or simply relaxing with a good book or catching up on some much-needed rest. Our cozy and clean cottage is designed to help our guests unwind and enjoy their stay. Overview: Our cottage comes equipped with several additional amenities to enhance your stay, including reverse cycle air conditioning, extra towels, rain umbrellas, an iron, a foldable ironing board, cleaning tools and products, a hairdryer, organic toiletry products, a bamboo rack dryer, and a bamboo ladder rack. The kitchen: Our fully equipped gas top kitchen features a wide selection of pots and pans, a kettle, a toaster, a blender, a pod coffee machine, and a smart microwave. We provide extra virgin olive oil, organic salt and brown sugar, and more to elevate your culinary experience. You'll also find a new 2-door fridge, complete with a freezer. When the bedroom doors are closed, the kitchen becomes a comfortable area for a one-bedroom studio, complete with an extendable table and two chairs. Some of our guests have even used the extension as a space for art or drawing. The bedroom: Our sliding doors provide privacy, and the wooden ceiling fan and split aircon keep you comfortable. The new, high-quality queen-sized mattress, mattress, and pillow covers, and pure cotton or linen sheets and towels are designed to protect you from allergens and irritants. The bedroom also features a small table and chair and a flat-screen TV that supports HTML cable. We don’t provide Foxtel or similar, but we provide Chromecast for you to enjoy your preferred entertainment, allowing you to set it up from your phone or device. The walk-in wardrobe: The bedroom leads to a walk-in space for your clothes, with a drawer cabinet, rail hanger space, and a vintage cabinet providing extra blankets, towels, a beach umbrella, beach towels, an ironing board and iron, a first aid kit, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a few toiletries in case you forgot yours. We also provide a bucket with laundry detergents and cleaning products. The bathroom: The Italian mosaic tiles and vintage mirror lend character to the bathroom, which boasts a spacious shower with two showerheads - a rain showerhead and an extractable one. We provide complimentary local body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and a hairdryer. Additionally, we offer a rare find - our luxury bidet. A bucket for hand washing is also provided, as there isn't a washing machine. We spoil our guests with our complimentary Lekker bikes, complete with a pump, bike lock, and helmets, so that you can explore the surrounding areas in style. Outdoor area: The all-decked veranda features several spots to relax, including a comfy daybed for enjoying the morning sun, peacock chairs and a vintage table for dining al fresco, a swing cane hanging chair. The covered veranda deck patio is surrounded by succulents and native plants that we personally plant, propagate and care for. We undertake a deep clean and disinfection of all areas between guest stays, from light switches to curtains, to ensure our guests' safety and well-being. We proudly give attention to details and dedication to providing great care to our guests. The access lane to the cottage is located on Clifford Street in Suffolk Park. Stop your car towards the end of the street where the 50-speed limit sign is located. On the left, you will see a lush garden lane, which is a private access for our cottage and two other neighbors. The lane consists of cement stepping stones on grass. At the end of the lane, you'll find the white gate of the cottage, which has a lock code. Once the space is booked, I'll send you detailed instructions. Please note that check-in time is at 3 pm and check-out is at 11 am. Kindly park your car after the 50-speed limit sign, towards the end of the street. At the end of the street, you'll find the beach entrance, and on the right of it, the caravan park sign. The cottage is a small one-bedroom studio that is very private and detached from the main house where we live, but still on my property. The entrance is located at the end of our private lane on Clifford Street. Self-check-in with a code lock at the gate entrance allows you to arrive at any time that suits your travel plans. During your stay, if you need anything or are looking for local recommendations that you can't find in our welcome folder, we are just across the fence. I prefer that you ask directly if you need anything or if something is missing or not working. Please let me know if you have any concerns rather than refraining from enjoying your stay fully. The last thing we want is for anything to cause you stress or for there to be a risk of receiving a bad review due to miscommunication. We hope that you fully enjoy the home away from home that we have created with our love and hard work. I'm just a text away, remember! Suffolk Park Beachside is widely considered by many to be the perfect place to live in the Byron Shire. With its amazing surf, stunning beach, and great fishing spots, it offers everything that lovers of the sea could ask for. But what really sets it apart is the sense of community and family-friendly atmosphere that can be felt both on the streets and on the beaches. Living in this happy and easy-going neighborhood is a dream come true for many people. From our cottage the closest grocery store is a Spar, which is only walk up the street. If you like a more relaxed getaway but only 5 min from the busy Byron Bay town center, to enjoy the surfy and chilled Suffolk vibes, there are plenty of shops nearby that offer convenience. These include: Top coffee at the Suffolk bakery The Park bottle shop & pub Pizza Paradiso Italian A new Vietnamese restaurant Suffolk Post Office Fish and chips and take-away Chemist If you're feeling to go to live the town nightlife or searching for a specific type of store or restaurant in Byron, read our guestbook or ask, we can point you in the right direction. Getting around is easy at The White Cottage. Guests can enjoy the complimentary bicycles provided and take the bicycle track at the end of Alcorn Street that goes to town through the lovely beach access. The bikes are new and guests are reminded to always use the lock. For those who prefer public transportation, the bus stop is just across the road from the entrance and goes to Byron town, Bangalow, Ballina, and around. Uber is also working well in the area. Located just across the gorgeous and tranquil Tallow beach, The White Cottage is in paradise. Guests can take inspiring beach walks to the sacred Taylor Tee tee lake (a 15-minute walk) on the way to Broken Head Beach (a 30-minute walk), If you turn left from the beach entrance there is 1.30/2 hrs walk towards where you see the lighthouse in the distance. The walk is ending up at beautiful Cosy Corner beach, then using its carpark entrance you can then walk up to the lighthouse. For those who prefer to drive, there us just a 6-minute drive to Byrons Main beach, to the Pass, Watergos beach and the Lighthouse. Only 4 minutes drive to Byrons shops, restaurants, and nightlife. For guests without a car, there's no need to worry as it's easy to get around with the many buses, Ubers or car hire services available. You can find all the Timetables online. Additionally if you turn left from Alcorn Street (just few steps from the cottage lane at the end of Clifford ), there is a beach bike track that leads to town. There are all new bike tracks to and all around Byron. For surf lovers: Tallow beach is a must-visit spot. It spans all the way from Cosy Corner to the beginning of Suffolk Park, and offers both right and left-hand waves depending on the swell direction. Cosy Corner is one of the few breaks protected from the dreaded northerlies, making it a great spot to catch some waves. Suffolk Park, located south of Byron Bay, can also offer good A frames, giving goofys and naturals a nice directional choice. The wreck, The pass, Wategos, and Belongil beach are also great spots for surfing, depending on weather and wind conditions that can be checked on surf apps. Please park your car after the 50-speed limit sign, towards the end of the street, instead of in front of the sign, as I prefer not to upset our neighbors. Getting Around: We provide Lekker bikes for your use, and there is a bicycle track at the end of Alcorn Street that leads to town through the lovely beach access. Please ensure that you lock the bikes at all times and use helmets to avoid fines. It is strictly prohibited to ride on the beach shore as the water can severely damage the wheel's mechanics. The bus stop is located just opposite your entrance lane, and you can check the Blanches bus timetables online. The closest grocery store is the Spar supermarket, which is approximately a 2-minute walk away. It is located at the Suffolk shopping center, where you can find various shops for your convenience when you want to stay away from the busy Byron town. Some of the shops include: Top coffee at the Suffolk bakery The Park bottle shop & pub Pizza Paradiso Italian A new Vietnamese restaurant Suffolk Post Office Fish and chips and take-away Chemist Please let us know if you are searching for a specific type of store or restaurant, and we can point you in the right direction. The cottage allows a maximum of 2 adults only. However, your baby is very welcome to stay with you if they sleep in the same bed. Therefore, we can accommodate babies up to 14 months of age for that reason. We make sure that our garden maintenance is done in between bookings to respect our guests' getaway time. However, there could be exceptions depending on the weather. We cannot control if or when neighbors decide to mow their lawns or if occasional dogs are barking or kids are playing. In case the council does street maintenance and advises us, we make sure to let you know in advance. The cottage rooms are smoke-free and have smoke alarms. You are welcome to smoke in the outside area, and an ashtray is provided. You are allowed to have friends over, but please keep the noise down after hours. It is strictly prohibited to have extra guests sleep over as the cottage is designed for 2 adults only, and there is no space for any kind of extra bedding. Gathering/party of any kind is also strictly prohibited. As in any neighborhood, there are quiet time rules after 9 pm. We love our planet and do our best to be eco-friendly. All the linen is eco-washed and extra-rinsed with vinegar, and eco products are complimentary for our guests. We ask you to be mindful of the excess use of water and electricity. OUR PETS: We have 2 cats (healthy, desexed, and vaccinated). They are very friendly, but if they bother you, please feel free to let us know. If you like to cuddle with them, that's great, but they are not allowed inside the cottage in case of guests with cat allergies. Please do not offer them any kind of food as they have a routine eating time.
