Patti's Camp Prattville is an all-season, 4 acres of waterfront property with your choice of accommodations and river access for swimming, tubing or relaxing with your toes in the water. The Main River House (3 bedroom / 2 bath) and The River Villa (3 bedroom / 2 bath) may be rented independently or, if available, as a compound for larger groups. This section of our property includes an acre of waterfront land, 3/2 home and river access immediately behind the house. The space Patti's Camp Prattville is available for your honeymoon, reunion, family retreat or just a simple getaway. This section of our property includes an acre of waterfront land, 3/2 home and river access for swimming, tubing or relaxing with your toes in the water. For all our returning guests - Several other rentals on our four acre Camp Prattville property were severely impacted by hurricane Helene in September. We did lose our guest Cottage in a landslide but plan to rebuild it next winter. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we move forward this year, restoring the property to its former glory. Other Amenities: Swimming DVD player with DVD’s Games Cards MAHJONG Mahjong available by request only. *Missing or damaged pieces/parts of Mahjong set will incur $50 charge. Missing set will incur $400 charge. CELL SERVICE IS LIMITED but a landline is available for local or long distance. Starlink satellite internet is available. The living room and master bedroom both have smart tv's to access your streaming services. The Pisgah forest mountain line is the backdrop for this property and exciting activities including biking, hiking, kayaking, bird watching and countless waterfalls. Book your stay today! RENTAL INFORMATION ⭐️ FISHING & RIVER ACTIVITIES This community struggles with trespassing and poaching of fish and deer. We do live on this property part of the year and in an effort to keep the peace with all of our neighbors, we kindly require that everyone remains only in the areas designated in the HE, VRBO or AIRBB rental agreement. It is out of respect for our community and neighbors. - Patti’s Camp Prattville is a SHARED PROPERTY. The additional structures on the property and their contents are NOT part of this rental. This section of our property consists of two (2) grey buildings. Please DO NOT TRAVEL BEYOND the garden that is on our property or on to any neighboring properties. ⁃ Children must be supervised at the river. Parents are responsible for their children and guests. ⁃ Quiet hours are from 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Please respect your neighbors. ⭐️ PETS on a leash are welcome when included in your booking. ⭐️ There is a non-refundable pet fee per stay. Be aware that we often have wildlife on the property and use caution while your pet is outside. (Deer poop in particular seems to be very inviting for pups) Please clean up after your pet. - DO NOT MOVE THE RIVER ROCKS Moving the rocks in and around the river will destroy the homes that have many important fish, insects, and salamanders. Evidence of moving the rocks will forfeit your entire deposit. ⭐️ SECURITY We have security cameras around the exterior of the property. Our security cameras cover the property lines, all points of entry into the homes and the riverfront to monitor the water level during storms. Activities in the area: MILLS RIVER: Mills River is HOPping with breweries! Sierra Nevada Brewery (8 min drive) is one of our favorite places. Anyone that comes to visit, it’s a must. They have an excellent menu and it’s just a really family friendly atmosphere. Often there is live music on a tiered, outdoor auditorium with games for kids and a garden you can walk through. Mills River Brewery has a beautiful outdoor/dog-friendly seating area and a food truck always on site. *Mills River Brewery, Bold Rock Cidery and Burning Blush Brewery are a stones throw from the house and can all be found within a one-mile radius. ASHEVILLE: 20-30 minute drive gets you to Asheville. You can spend and entire day checking out the downtown. Asheville is a foodie town and has everything you could imagine! Most locations offer plant-based and gluten free options. One of our favorite spots is Sunny Point Cafenin West Asheville. *Hole donuts was recently rated the second best donut shop in the nation! If you are into breweries, almost all of them have outdoor seating and food trucks as well as outdoor games for kids. On a pretty day, New Belgium for example is perfect for a family stop. For indoor activities: Asheville Science Museum The Biltmore Asheville trampoline center The Grove Park Inn * There are TONS of breweries in the area but Burial Forestry Camp stands our as one of our favorites. Most all breweries in the area have food trucks on site and offer NA options. HENDERSONVILLE: A 20 minute drive East takes you to the charming town of Hendersonville. *The BEST pizza in the area is Pie Squared, in Hendersonville on 191. (try The Tomato Pie) Hit up the Elijah Craig Gem mine (on 64) for the kids. Once in the downtown area, the parking garage towards north Main Street will give you access to all the quaint shops and restaurants. Make sure to check out Mast General Store and Kilwins Chocolates. Shine and Postero (both on Main Street) are our front runners for a nice dinner. Always call ahead for hours and availability but on a rainy day for kids: Hendersonville kids museum Hendersonville pinball arcade Hendersonville aquarium. **Florida people do not despair! We do have a PUBLIX in Hendersonville for your pub-sub fix! BREVARD: Super cute little town. 22 minutes south down 280. Easy enough to park right downtown and walk to all the sights. Blue Ridge Bakery is a must! With kids In tow, you can’t pass up the three story OP Taylor Toy store and then hit up Rocky’s local soda shop. For unique shopping, make sure to check out Mantiques and DDBullwinkles outdoor store. While the kids are still on a sugar high, grab some sandwiches to-go from Food Matters Cafe and head into Pisgah Forest to check out all our beautiful waterfalls. Looking Glass falls is a short drive into the forest and has parking with a tiny walk down to the falls. For a full days adventure, rent a tube at the entrance of the forest and lazy River tube down the river or spend the day at Sliding Rock. If the weather is dreary, you can check out the Cradle of Forestry for kids entertainment in Pisgah. On a pretty day, the 25 minute drive up 276 from Brevard to the Blue Ridge is worth the spectacular view. If it’s supper time on the parkway, The Pisgah Inn has a stellar and fancy menu. *Morning Social is our spot for /breakfast/brunch DUPONT/FLAT ROCK: DuPont Forest is a must. It’s a 30 minute drive to Park at the High Falls access parking lot (with visitor center and bathrooms) and take the three-mile hike to three stunning waterfalls. You can spend an entire day hiking in DuPont but if you’ve got time to spare, head out to Sky Top Orchard or Jeter Mountain Farm. Pick some apples, swing by their petting zoo and don’t forget to snag a hot apple-cider donut! If you would rather a little beauty and serenity, The Carl Sandburg Home is lovely and also has goats for the kiddos. SALUDA: If you are into kayaking, river tubing or zip-lining, a half hour drive brings you to the Green River/Saluda area. The cutest little down-town offers quaint shops and restaurants. Make sure to check out the best bakery in the area, Wildflour Bakery and Cafe or The Purple Onion. SUMMER GUESTS 🎆 If you are booking in the summer, please note that the acerage immediately across the river is a private summer camp for children called Camp Highlander. We absolutely adore their fabulous 4th of July fireworks display and find the children charming. If you do not find the occasional evening music, campground PA system or the sound of children laughing and playing charming, this is NOT the summer rental for you! 😊 🐶 For guests traveling with pups that have noise aversion and anxiety - please note that the traditional 4th of July fireworks display put on by the neighbors is EXTREMELY loud and runs late. WINTER GUESTS ❄️ If you are booking in the WINTER, please note that this is a mountain rental. Although we do not often get snow, there is always a potential for it so please plan accordingly. We do not issue refunds for inclement weather. Information for our guests booked during WINTER MONTHS: Although we haven’t had much snow in the last few years, it is always a possibility. Our rental is located in the river valley, so no mountain-steep driveway. We do however, still recommend a four wheel/all wheel drive vehicle while traveling in western NC in the event of snowfall. All of our rentals on Mills River do have whole-home generators and land-lines in the event of power outages. Our Christmas tree and decorations are typically up December 1st - January 1st. If you are celebrating a late Christmas, please let us know so we can leave decorations out longer for your stay. Winter Activities: Moonshine Mountain Snow Tubing park - 20 minute drive Opens December 17th 2022 - Over 500 ft of snow banks (blown in if necessary) Sapphire Valley Ski area is -and hour south/ west. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is 30 minutes north. Cataloochee Ski area is an hour north west Sugar Mountain is 1.5 hours north east. Beech Mountain is 2 hours, north east Appalachian Ski Mountain is 2 hours north east. Boone 2.5 hours NE of Guest access Our property consists of two (2) GREY buildings and the riverfront immediately behind them. DO NOT TRESSPASS ONTO ANY NEIGHBORING PROPERTIES. - Patti’s Camp Prattville is a SHARED PROPERTY. Please note that the Cottages may also be rented out to other guests during your stay. - We are available during your stay via the app for any questions you may have. We are also often on-site during stays, diligently working to maintain the grounds. Cell service here is something like the Hunger Games: “May the odds be ever in your favor.” We recommend enabling WIFI calling on your device to better send and receive calls and texts. A landline is available for local and long distance calling (within the US)
