Each vibrantly decorated area exudes warmth & comfort, with high end furniture throughout the inside and outside. There are dozens of luxe plop down spots situated around the house and property - perfect for paging through piles of books and magazines. Lazy days, fireplace crackles, long dog walks, traipses into nearby Santa Fe, proximity to Opera House/Chimayo/Taos/Ojo Caliente/Los Alamos/Rio Grande, a half dozen national forests, a few rejuvenating spas (Four Seasons and Wo’P’in) and several popular golf courses are just down the road. There is a charming cabin from 1860 on the property that acts as a guesthouse or additional office if needed. Outdoor solar lighting keeps the grounds well lit at night and adds a sweet fairytale vibe to the warm evenings that is unrivaled. Sonos speakers are in every room and discreetly placed around the property, so your own playlist of music follows you wherever you roam. There is parking for multiple vehicles, with several covered spots available. As in most rural communities, this property has delicious drinkable well water - which is always mind blowing when you’re from the big city…throw in a calming live edge flagstone verandah that is perfect for yoga around the firepit or late night stargazing with a hot toddy and you’ve got yourself a spot on earth that’s hard to leave. And, the cowboy plunge pool is perfect for sunny days! A small eco-friendly hot tub is great for winter soaks. For those traveling with kids, we have a pack and play, high chair and kiddo basics for your use so you can leave the bulky stuff at home:) Guest access The whole six-acre Ranchito is privately yours…three-bedroom adobe home, the casita, and the old 1860 cabin, each with their own stories and fireplaces (except the casita). The upstairs king suite in the has a private terrace with mountain views and its own outdoor entrance, or, for the brave and the young at heart, a hand-built ladder connecting into the main house that kids adore. A second bath, our Bathhouse, sits just steps from the main home, with hand-plastered walls, candlelight, and the kind of stillness that makes a simple shower feel like ceremony…but we added a Bluetooth speaker in the ceiling fan for NPR lovers:) Paths are softly lit by solar light to protect the night sky. The terrain is natural, uneven, and deeply peaceful. If anyone in your group has mobility needs, just reach out before booking and we’ll make sure it’s the right fit. Other things to note Photos reflect all four of New Mexico’s moods…from sleepy summer sunsets to monsoon storms and snow-dusted winter mornings. The Ranchito shifts beautifully with the seasons, each one its own kind of magic. We’re tucked at the very end of a quiet dirt road, wrapped in sky and silence. An SUV is recommended during winter or after heavy rain; nothing wild, just comfort for the curves and bumps. You’ll have complete privacy, though a few exterior cameras cover the common areas for security and deliveries. They’re disarmed at check-in. Families traveling with little ones will find a pack ’n play, high chair, and the basics already waiting…so you can travel lighter and rest easier.
