Peaceful country living 10 minutes from downtown Roswell, NM. This twenty-acre farm features 100s of pecan trees, grassy pastures, native flora, a pond, and an old stucco farmhouse sitting in the middle of it all. With the help of a Deere tractor, several equine friends (big and small), wild growth is kept under control. There's a good chance you'll see native fauna, from turtles and wild turkeys to dragonflies and great blue herons (depending on the season). Bring your binoculars! The space The farmhouse is a classic adobe/stucco structure with thick mud walls and metal roof. Very tall individuals (6'5"+) will have to duck under some low hallway door jambs. 9' ceilings in the bedrooms give a spacious feel, while updates to the bathrooms won't have you pumping water to the sink by hand. The kitchen is equipped with a modern glass stove top, convection oven and new Moen sink faucet. The fridge may be from 1998, but it's clean and works... they don't make 'em like they used to! The utility room features upright washer/dryer, big metal sink, and plenty of shelves stocked with cleaning and first aid supplies. Guest access The farmhouse is all yours. The adjacent fenced-in yard is safe and secure. The barn can be visited, but let's talk first. The garage is not for vehicles, as it is a storage unit at the moment. You'll also have full access to the entire property (including the orchard, the pond, and back country), however, having full awareness of your surroundings is a constant requirement on a farm with roaming animals and various critters. Exercising care at all times will be your key to a successful visit. Other things to note The number one rule: IF YOU OPEN ANY GATE, CLOSE IT. Why? Not only for your safety, but for the safety of the animals. It is not fun to retrieve powerful animals who've escaped; we can avoid this scenario by keeping gates closed!
