The Turret Suite is the signature suite of the Keweenaw Castle Resort. It is the reason we call this the "Castle" and provides a tree top view of Lake Superior from it's very own "Turret". The lower ceiling, pine walls and floor, and little "Alice in Wonderland" door to the amazing bathroom and balcony make this a dreamy stay. Guests enjoy an in-room wet bar too! This link is for the Turret Suite (1 of 4 suites available). Winter Special Events can be found on our Keweenaw Castle website. Perched feet from the waters edge, the castle has everything you could want in an upscale vacation experience including on site couples massages. Four levels of luxury living from the shared space in the Lake Level to the tippy top Turret Suite, we can host 2-8 guests overnight with options to rent the entire guest side of the castle (all four suites) and host small private gatherings and destination weddings. On the Lake Level, all guests can prepare their own meals (gas grill also available), watch television, play games, shoot a game of pool or shuffleboard, light a fire in the stone fireplace (winters only), schedule a couples massage, visit the swim spa room, or take a relaxing sauna. This common area is cozy and inviting for all guests with plenty of space for all to hang out. Outside, walk to the waters edge to hunt for agates during the day and yooperlights at night, swim, kayak/canoe (provided for free), enjoy the surf (summer water temps range from very cold in June up to 75F in July and August), play yard games on site, sunbathe, enjoy a beachside bonfire, or simply lounge on our outdoor patio open to guests. The main floor contains the entrance for guests in the Library Room. This common area houses a multitude of books for your reading pleasure as well as movies to take back to your suite and an area to exchange towels daily if desired. The double glass French doors open into a foyer leading to both stairwells (up and down), the door to the residential side, and lucky guests staying in the Grand Suite can access their room directly as well. The upper floor contains the Balcony Suite, the Cubby, and the stairwell landing up to the Turret Suite which encompasses the entire top floor (stairwell is inside this suite/door at the base). Vacationers have a variety of options for their stay. Main Level: 1) The Grand Suite is a stand alone suite, perfect for a couples getaway (sleeps 2 max). This suite contains a split king electric framed bed, extra large flat screen tv, hexagonal sitting area overlooking the water, a copper topped fireplace, a huge master bath complete with a jetted tub, walk-in heated shower with full body spray system, and private room for the toilet with bidet. This suite has access to a semi-private outdoor lakeside patio, to include use of the residential built in gas grill and gas firepit (three seasons). May host a pet upon advanced approval. Upper Story: 2) The Balcony Suite (sleeps 2). This suite has a king bed, walk-in shower, in-room wet bar, telescope, table and chairs, and is the one of two suites with a balcony overlooking the lake. It also features a Bluetooth speaker and yooperlight mural in the shape of the U.P./UV Black night light in the walk-in shower. 3) The Cubby Room (sleeps 2). This suite has a queen sized bed, 3/4 bathroom, and is non-lake facing but cozy and comfy. Top Floor/All to itself: 4) The Turret Suite (sleeps 2) is the signature room and why we call this the "Castle". This suite has the most character with lower than average ceilings, pine surround, an Eagle-eyed view of the lake complete with telescope to view passing freighters, an electric frame queen sized bed, and an in-room wet bar, and an awe-inspiring view from the private bath with balcony. The view from here is second to none! I "man the office" in the summer season because I am off work from my full time job in education. Once I return to work, I'm available via phone/text and often run into guests on property but not by a set schedule. :) We are in a rural private neighborhood. There is one of mile of dirt road to get to our driveway which is grated often and fully transmissible year round. It can be a bit bumpy just prior to the next grading at the end of the fall season. Ample parking on property next to the guest entrance and across the driveway (please don't block our house garage stalls). The neighborhood is very spread out and you are able to walk on the beach as far as you want to go (State law is traversing/not sitting down to hang out/anywhere there is not vegetation on the beach).
