The space As a full-time resident of Joshua Tree for five years, I can honestly say the views from our home are as exceedingly rare as they are majestic. This private hilltop home, The Outpost, is a fully remodeled 2-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom mid-century home designed for both comfort and connection. The Outpost sits on 10 pristine acres and has been lovingly reimagined by a top designer to honor its timeless mid-century modern charm, complete with original beams and picture windows that frame the mountains and valley below. Step inside and feel transported to another (highly curated) era in the desert, surrounded by iconic Joshua Trees, dramatic canyon views, and the snow-capped mountains. -Living Area- The spacious living room invites you to gather, unwind, and soak in the views. Cozy up by the electric fireplace, spin a record on the vintage turntable, or enjoy movie nights on the smart TV — all surrounded by expansive windows that frame those breathtaking mountain and valley vistas. The open concept to the kitchen and dining areas makes spending time with loved ones a breeze. -Kitchen & Dining- The modern kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook inspired meals at home. We provide complimentary locally roasted coffee from Joshua Tree Coffee Co., Keurig K-cups, plus sugars, creamers, and an assortment of teas making it easy to catch a sunrise with your morning coffee or tea. Enjoy your meals at the indoor dining table or step out to the side patio for al fresco dining with the mountains as your backdrop. -Bedrooms & Bathrooms- The primary bedroom features a plush king bed, an ensuite half bathroom, and a sliding glass door that opens directly to the backyard, blending indoor comfort with the vast outdoors. The second bedroom also offers a king bed with luxurious linens and serene desert views. The side patio features an outdoor dining area and a BBQ grill, perfect for long, leisurely meals under the endless sky. -Surrounding Area- Despite feeling completely secluded and private, The Outpost is just minutes from the best of the High Desert. Old Town Yucca’s charming restaurants and shops are only 5 minutes away. Please note that a closet and the garage are both locked to guests as they are used to house supplies for the rental. Other things to note Hot Tub Service: The hot tub is serviced on Tuesdays & Fridays, approximately between 11am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. They will not approach the house but will go directly through to the tub. Cowboy Pool: Please note that the cowboy pool is not heated and typically best for use during the summer, but the hot tub is ready for use year-round! Desert Wildlife & Safety Tips: The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. ESAs/service animals should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as curious pets can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants.
