Description
Enjoy a waterfront experience on the Historic Columbia River with a bounty of views in all directions including shipping traffic, snow-capped volcanoes, birdwatching and berry fields. This includes 3 spacious river view bedroom suites, 3.5 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, living room w/grand piano, game room w/foosball and private beach. Stairs are required. If you have a larger group, check out our listing COLUMBIA RIVER WATERFRONT+STUDIO+KAYAK that includes a ground floor studio. The space The craftsman style woodwork throughout the house was sourced from various historic buildings throughout the Portland area. This wood would have been harvested originally by teams of horses in Oregon’s old growth forests. Some of the trim pieces have more than 100 years of growth across a single board and would have come from trees still standing while Lewis and Clark passed this site back on November 5th, 1805. The upstairs game room maple floor was recycled from school gym. Guest access The entire top 2 floors, 2400 square feet, are yours for private use. As mentioned above, we also have a studio apartment (kitchen/bath/shower/queen bed) on the ground floor available as an add-on to the upper 2 floors. We do not rent the studio out on its own, which means all the outdoor space, including the beach will only be used by your group during your stay if you book this listing. Other things to note BEDS: There are 3 queen beds, 1 king and a bunk bed (sleeps 1 adult or 2 children). TV: There is a large smart TV with a ROKU stick in the living room. Local channels can also be accessed. The bedrooms do not have TVs but the home is equipped with WIFI for your use to watch movies on your own personal devices. NOISES: The home is across from the Columbia Fruit Farm. For a short period of time in the summer, close to when the berries are almost ripe, you may hear various noises they use to scare birds away. If you have the windows open, you may also hear the farm workers playing soccer or listening to some festive music during their time off. KAYAKS/CANOES: We have a double kayak, 2 adult single kayaks, a youth kayak, rubber raft and canoe, along with required life jackets, available for your use. PRIVATE BEACH: During May & early June the Columbia River is typically higher due to snow melting in the mountains, so the private beach area is reduced but the back yard and fire pit is available year round and stocked with wood. The private beach area extends for several hundred feet to the north of the property. We kindly ask that you don't walk south on the beach as that is the property of the neighboring homes.
