Escape the urban grind to a warm, plush, well-located cabin nestled in the Bluestone Forest, just 12 mins from Woodstock or Kingston. Cushy sofa and 65-inch smart TV + lots of games and books to unwind in the light-filled living space. Multiple areas to work/relax (with fast WiFi) plus wraparound deck with gas grill. Cozy beds and a kitchen with all the tools you need + a farm-style dining table. Three ski mountains less than an hour away and 30 miles of trails accessible from your door. Thoughtful design The interior space is designed and decorated with a mixture of art and antiques we've collected throughout years of travel. The home's style provides flares of visual interest and color against a clean minimalist backdrop, all intended as a tranquil retreat from urban/suburban life. Bountiful natural light complements it all. Outdoor bliss The home is located within an hour of three major ski mountains (Belleayre, Hunter, and Windham), so once you've enjoyed your mug of gourmet coffee (and maybe a couple pancakes), you can set out to conquer the mountain. If cross-country skiing is your thing, the nearby Woodstock Nordic Center offers nearly 30 miles of groomed trails during the winter. But you don't even have to get in your car to enjoy outdoor beauty and recreation - the home is tucked away into 3000 state-protected acres of the Bluestone Wild Forest, which has 30 miles of hiking and biking trails. The forest and trails are beautiful and peaceful in the fall and winter months. Step out your front door, walk a couple hundred feet, and you'll find yourself on these lovely wooded trails, perfect for hiking, biking, and snowshoeing. Explore to your heart's content. Time to Unwind The home has a powerful mesh wifi network, so you can work or watch movies from every corner of the 2000 sq. ft. house (or even from the wrap-around deck). After a long day of exploring the Hudson Valley, curl up on the plush sectional sofa, and unwind under a warm blanket in front of the 65-inch smart TV. The large, multi-level home has several workspaces so that multiple guests can watch movies, work, and take calls from different areas without disturbing each other. Chef's Table As avid home cooks ourselves, we've set up the kitchen with all of the tools and items you need to prepare a fantastic meal, including a 5-burner gas stove and oven, KitchenAid stand mixer, conical burr coffee grinder, and much more. The home also boasts a high-end gas grill and stainless steel grill set for all your outdoor cooking needs. To sip a beer while grilling burgers or brats in the sun is a transcendent experience (and a rarity for city-dwellers). Once your gourmet creation is complete, enjoy it at the large farm-style dining table (easily seats 8) or the outdoor deck table if the weather is nice. Location, location, location You may never want to leave this well-appointed and comfortable cabin, but if you do, you're just a 10-15 minute drive from many charming Upstate towns such as Woodstock, Kingston, Saugerties, and more. Enjoy many incredible restaurants who source ingredients locally from the bountiful Hudson Valley region. When you book with us, we'll send you our curated guide to the best restaurants, shops, and recreation in the area. You'll have access to the whole home and property. The home is equipped for remote check-in and check-out. Ryan and Sarah will be available at all times during your stay should you have any questions or concerns. This home offers the best of both worlds - it's located on a private, forested road, so you'll have all the peace and quiet a city-dweller craves. But it's also only a short drive (about 7 miles) away from the charming downtowns of Woodstock and Kingston, NY. Venture just a little further and you'll have access to all of the Hudson Valley/Catskills, including art, antiques, skiing, outdoor adventure, wineries and more. One of our favorite activities is to begin the day with a walk or hike in the adjacent Bluestone Wild Forest, which boasts a well-maintained network of wooded trails for walking, hiking, or mountain/gravel biking. The home is located on a well-maintained private gravel/dirt road. The road is safe and easy to navigate as long as you drive very slowly. Beautiful country roads take you directly to Woodstock, Kingston, Hudson or beyond.
