NEW — This tranquil private suite is a part of a historic cottage nestled on the edge of Lake Merritt’s Cleveland Cascade neighborhood, minute from Lake Merritt, downtown Oakland, and Temescal. The space Every morning, this room is filled with bright sunshine, airy rustles of the garden it’s nestled within, and the soft buzzing of the hummingbirds that also call its patio their home. This is a retreat like no other, the perfect stop to slow down, breathe deeply, and appreciate the beauty of nature before stepping back outside to the vibrate astir that is Oakland. Shared space includes a beautiful chef's kitchen and a tastefully decorated Art Deco living room, dining room, and meditation room. You will also have full access to the home's laundry room, and expansive outdoor deck with beautiful views of downtown Oakland. Guest access You'll have the convenience and flexibility of no-contact entry at my home. The cottage is enclosed within a gate that can be opened with a key pad. Once inside the gate, the room has its own private french door entrance and a patio that is surrounded by a garden of blooming Arabian Jasmine, century-old Ivy, Azalea, and others. The key to the french doors are located conveniently in a lockbox next to the door. If you are driving, you can park any where in front of the house. Street parking is usually plenty up and down 28th Street. I recommend driving up Bayview Ave, if you're not able to find parking readily on 28th. During your stay For any questions or concerns during your stay, reach out to me over Airbnb for a prompt response. Other things to note On the corner of 8th & Park, there is a 24-hour convenience & liquor store located about a 4 minute walk from the house. To get there, take a left from the front gate and walk down 28th Street until you get to Park, and then take a left again and walk until 8th Street. The closes grocery store is Trader Joes, located on Lakeshore and Lake Park. Across the street from Trader Joes, is my favorite coffee shop, Arizmendi. If you're visiting during the weekend, be sure to squeeze in a walk to Lake Merritt. I like to head there Saturday mornings for the farmer's market, and picnic by the lake until the afternoon.
