A charming, ground-floor apartment for 4 people, which has its own private loggia. The apartment is part of the Poggio Verde agriturismo, an old farm which has been converted into 8 properties. It has lovely views over the Umbrian countryside as well as extensive grounds and a shared outdoor swimming pool. Each apartment has its own private entrance and each is comfortably furnished. The front door opens from the loggia into the open-plan living area. Other things to note Painted a warm yellow this sunny room has an open fireplace, sofa, dining table and a separate kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker hob, oven, fridge/freezer and Nespresso coffee machine. Guests can enjoy meals outside under the loggia where there is a table and chairs. Castiglione del Lago (10 minutes), with its medieval castle that dominates the lakeshore, offers wonderful views over the beautiful Lake Trasimeno. On the water, guests can enjoy many different watersports, including canoeing and swimming. Away from the lake, visitors can cycle or hike along one of the many tracks that crisscross the stunning countryside. The capital of Umbria, Perugia is 45 minutes away. It is well worth a visit, as is the famous town of Assisi (1 hour) birthplace of St Francis and a site of pilgrimage. Over the border in Tuscany, Montepulciano (40 minutes) makes an interesting day trip. Here you can visit many different wine producers and try some of the famous red wines and buy some to enjoy at home.
