There was no WIFI in 1860 and there is none now unless your phone provides you with a hotspot, which most cell phones do work here depending on your provider. There is a small kitchen with refrigerator, water cooker, and coffee maker. A hearth to keep away the chill. The cottage is located on a working farm with livestock and wildlife, so caution and respect for the animals is required. You may wake up after a restful night sleep, to the sound of a braying donkey, or gobbling turkey. There are dogs and cats on the premises, and although we love pets, any visiting pets are ONLY accepted on an individual basis, after evaluating the risk they may pose to pets, free-ranging chickens, livestock, and the local wildlife. If you will be traveling with a pet, you will need to inquire directly with me (Anita) and get pre-approval before you can bring your pet. A $25 pet fee is charged per pet if pre-approved, payable upon check-in. There is a veterinary hospital and boarding facility, with very friendly and knowledgeable staff, a few miles away where you can board your pet per hour or day - we can assist in getting you connected with them. The whole farm, including the house and grounds is a non-tobacco environment. This means no smoking, no smokeless tobacco (chew), nor vaping. Tobacco puts the lavender at risk of being infected with TMV (Tobacco Mosaic Virus). You can shop for homegrown lavender products, bronze art, and regional crafts in the farm store. Pure honey from the farm's bees, Elderberry Syrup, and Lavender Essential Oil, Navajo Churro Wool, and lots more. Your wholesome Farm to Table breakfast will include some of our culinary lavender products, straight from the farm. All ingredients sourced with your wellbeing in mind. You are welcome to enjoy the scenery of the farm, but must be respectful to the farm animals, pets, and wildlife. Also be careful not to touch the fencing, because it is electrified. There is a small farm store, stocked with lavender, elderberry syrup, wool, products made with lavender, gift items, Bronze Wildlife and Equine Sculptures by award-winning artist Bob Scheelings, and local crafts. Guest access On the day of your check-in you will receive a text on the phone number you shared during booking, with the directions on how to get to the farm. The farm sits back about 800 feet from the start of our driveway where our sign is, and you will come through the gate (with the rooster on a post). Then as you pass the weeping willow, you will see the Cottage on your left. The driveway is circular and there is a small blacktop parking lot in front the cabin and farmhouse. You will text us your estimated time of arrival, so we can welcome you, and get you checked in (in person). Once checked in you are free to enjoy the grounds, and forest, or access the creek area. Be careful, the fences are electrified to keep the farm animals contained. Sit on your private porch and watch the animals coexist in peace. Other things to note If you need to accommodate more people, you can also check if there are rooms available in the Farmhouse B&B. The rooms in the 1860 Farm house are also listed on AirBnB.
