A place rich in atmosphere! Villa Il Frantoio is a bed & breakfast in Praiano, in the South of Italy, in the charming village of Vettica Maggiore is the recently restored historic Il Frantoio. The villa was once a working olive press for the local villagers and has been carefully restored to bring back the essence of a period long gone. The space Villa Il Frantoio is located on the Amalfi Coast, in the charming village of Praiano, with a small pool at use of its guests. We have 6 double rooms all with private, sea view terrace and en-suite bathroom and a separate 2 bedrooms unit: villa Lilmar. We rent the entire complex for large party, up to 21 (the 5 extra beds are suited for children). The listed basic rate is for 16 guests. Please ask for a tailor-made price if you are over 16. We can offer party meals exclusively under our supervision, with a private chef. There is no option to cook yourself! The bed and breakfast feature six rooms and a separate beautiful apartment with kitchen and living and dining area. Each room has special and unique character with private terraces overlooking the shimmering Mediterranean, picturesque Positano and legendary Capri. The architecture of the villa dates to the 17th century and all of the romantic and dramatic details shine through today. The bed and breakfast's private and common-space terraces are characterized by dramatic high arches and the sleeping chambers have domed roofs in the authentic style of this region. The original stone wheel and press have been kept fully intact in our grand suite as a tasteful centerpiece. Although every effort to restore it original charm and elegance have been employed, there are all the modern conveniences one would expect in a world class bed and breakfast establishment. High-speed Internet and wireless access are juxtaposed with hand-cut stone floors—modern bathrooms look though ancient portals out to sea and Capri. Flat screen TV’s are mounted on hand colored plastered walls and air-conditioning is cleverly hidden from view but available for your comfort. Families, couples, singles, and groups large and small will call the bed and breakfast Il Frantoio their home, in our b&b in the Amalfi coast. The bed and breakfast is best reached either by car service or by private car. The walk from the parking area to the villa consists of approximately 70 steps. This leads to a communal path of about 200 meters The intrepid travelers can instead access Il Frantoio the old-fashioned way of the Amalfi coast; by stairs—220 to be precise—from the heart of the village below. Porter services are available. It is advisable to request the extra cost porter service prior to your arrival. (the service is paid in addition to the room rate). Ours is considered the most spectacular vantage point on the entire Amalfi Coast. It is a short distance from the bustling town of Positano, with its many shops, restaurants, and galleries, yet it seems a world apart. The famous city of Amalfi is down the coast in the other direction and can be easily reached by car, boat, or public transportation. Excursions to the famed isle of Capri (home of the notorious Roman ruler Tiberius) can be arranged by ferry or private boat where one can swim in the waters of the Blue Grotto. While at the bed and breakfast you will enjoy full breakfast on our morning terrace and get tips to better enjoy your stay. Adventurous travelers enjoy the spectacular trails that crisscross our steep slopes and follow the foot paths created centuries ago — before roads, or even mules, were available for transport — Truly a step back in time. Guest access You have access to all areas of the villa. The house will be used only for residing guests. We will take care of serving morning’s breakfast and daily cleaning and linen change. The pool and outdoor tub will be checked and maintained regularly during your stay. Other things to note The Villa can be your venue for your special occasion for the residing guests only. A birthday party, a wedding venue, a friends or a family gathering. However, no private parties can take place without the prior arrangement with management which will be supervised. Outside catering can be arranged too and again this has to be put past management prior to the event. It is also worth noting that when booking the Villa for an event you agree to a midnight curfew and that music cannot be played beyond this time which is adhered by everyone in Praiano. It is also a courteous gesture to our neighbours.
