The space Built by my Great-Great-Grandfather (Fire Out Pengelly) in 1886, Teglios is a substantial three storey fish palace sat right on the Quay alongside the Looe River, just 200 meters from the beach and the famous Banjo Pier. Located on the top 2 floors (1st & 2nd) is an outstanding riverside apartment of 3,600 square feet with spectacular views from every window. The first floor has 4 bedrooms (2 with en-suite bathrooms) and a further shower room. With full height vaulted ceilings on the top floor, exposed beams and a mezzanine study there is a wealth of original features (even if some of the beams are health hazards to guests over 6' tall!) The interior has just been completely renovated and is tastefully decorated. Throughout the property you will find a variety of family antiques sitting alongside every modern convenience you could want. Customer reviews of Teglios The location possibly can't be beaten. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Teglios. We had eight adults and a small child along with two dogs; all well behaved. We postponed this booking twice because of COVID and were delighted with the apartment. First floor bedrooms and bathrooms and second floor kitchen and spacious communal area. First Floor: Lovely wide landing with solid oak floor and river views leading to: Master Bedroom: A very large double-aspect room with harbour views. Superking bed. Second Floor: A solid oak floored upper landing leads to:- Shower Room: Contains WC, wash hand basin and shower cubicle with electric shower. Living Room: An impressive room of over 1,100 square feet, with a full height vaulted ceiling and extensive exposed beams. With a solid oak floor, the room enjoys outstanding views over the Looe River and out to sea towards the Banjo Pier with 5 large windows and two double doors with Juliette balconies facing the river. Here you will find a comfortable sitting area from which to watch the world sail by. There is a large open plan, well equipped kitchen with everything the enthusiastic cook could ever need - electric oven, 4-ring hob, extractor, large American fridge freezer with ice maker, dishwasher, sharp knives and the all essential wine rack. This area can be closed off with a large child / dog gate if required. Separated by a breakfast bar with 4 stools, the adjoining dining area boasts a large antique mahogany dining table which seats 10-12 in comfort. In the "unlikely" event of rain, there is a 7' x 4' slate bed pool table, a large table football table, a large HD TV with full Sky package (including sports & movies), Netflix, Prime TV, a selection of books, jigsaws, board games for the family to play with. From the living room a steep open staircase leads up to a mezzanine study area with an antique desk. Additional beds: There are two high quality portable single beds. These can be located in the two of the first floor bedrooms or in the sitting room if required. Other things to note Parking in Looe is difficult and we are delighted to offer guests parking in the seafront carpark just 200m from the property. (Additional cost of £8 per day) Guests may stop outside Teglios briefly to drop bags, shopping etc but you are advised to keep an eye on your vehicle at all times and not stay there any longer than you need to - the traffic wardens are the most efficient thing in Cornwall and tickets are £100!!
