The space Built in 1626, this small barn was mainly used to store hay and grain to feed the animals, but it was within its stone walls the stableman also found his bed at the end of the long day. Almost 400 years later, after a complete renovation, Le Barn — as we call it — house, once again, a bed to envelope someone’s dreams. Not quite the stableman’s coop, the 17th century den has now been transformed into a modern country loft with hot water, underfloor heating and a fully outfitted kitchen — where a breakfast basket will be waiting for you. The living room has plenty of feather-filled cushions, to sink you into comfort and into the mood to tackle that book you’ve been longing to finish, or put some music on and be transported by that pulse that gets you going or, simply, enjoy a movie break in front of a roaring fire — we all love a bit of screen-time after a long touring day. Up the stone stairs, tucked away next to the dressing room, a welcoming shower-room will get you ready to dive into the indulgent double bed that will gently snug you in to dreamland. Right outside your front door, under the fresh canopy of an old lime tree, there is a little table and chairs set up for you to relax, enjoy a mid afternoon apero or a nice laidback breakfast.
