Please note: We’re closed for renos in Jan. Open again from Feb. Myrtlemae Farm is a 24-acre property with meandering gardens and views over the Blackwood Valley. The cottage is a repurposed stable featuring stone floors, mid-century Australian and furniture and homewares combined with modern services. Note. This is a converted stables in the bush. With that comes ‘creaks and character’. It’s subject to the elements. If you’re looking for a pristine, modern space it’s not for you. The space ‘Rustic’ is certainly a word you could use to describe Myrtlemae Cottage. It is also ‘cosy’, ‘charming’ and ‘comfy’. We think the cottage started life as a stables come work shed. Since then it has been through a few changes including the addition of flagstone floors using bricks rescued from the old Balingup Hotel. Over the last few years the cottage has been meticulously re-purposed. The interior living space is essentially one large room split over two levels. The upper level features a queen and two king single beds. On the lower level is the living area with lounge (which folds out to a double bed) and woodfire stove, dining area and kitchen. The new kitchen has a stainless-steel oven, gas cooktop and fridge along with a toaster. kettle, and Nespresso including tea and complimentary coffee pods. We have also included all the things you need to cook up a feast. Off the main space is a newly renovated bathroom that also has a washer/dryer combo. There is also access to south facing deck (perfect for sunsets). There’s no TV, but you can stare out the widescreen window and take in the nature channel all day and there is a host of books, games and puzzles to entertain - not forgetting all the things you can do on the property.
