Description

Welcome to a wonderful stay at our vineyard! Here you and your family can spend your vacation in quiet and luxurious surroundings. You will have the entire property to yourself. We have strict cleaning measures in relation to Covid-19, and our caretaker and cleaning staff have incorporated strict routines between each check-in/check-out. Feel free to contact us for more information! The space Approximately 22 acres of vineyard consisting of Barberadrues, Nebbiolo and Cabernet Sauvignon with an age of up to 60 years. Nebbiolo about 4 acres of vines from the year 2000. Barbera about 12 acres of vines from the years 1960 and 2000. Barbera about 2 acres of vines from the year 2000. Cabernet Sauvignon about 4 acres of vines from the year 2000. La Mandragola means “The Wild Girl” (in a very positive sense) and was part of the cult-clique around producers such as Michele Chiarlo, La Barbatella, Domenico Clerico (barolo) and others in what was considered “the new wine” in Piedmont in the 1980s - 2000s. That is, innovative producers who dared to break with traditions and created their own identity and wine style. This was well received in the world press and the wines achieved (attain) high prices and recognition. Set on top of a hill (bric or bricco), Azienda Agricola La Mandragola boasts panoramic views to the south and the Alps to the west. The vineyards are around and near the house itself. These consist of barbera, nebbiolo and a small proportion of cabernet sauvignon. The vineyards are well worked up and maintained with good drainage, sun exposure and face west. The soil in the area is clay, lime, tough (petrified volcanic ash) and salt minerals - perfect for grape diving. La Mandragola is located in the middle of the border areas of three different villages/municipalities: Castelnuovo Calcea, Montegrosso and Agliano Terme. They all have shops, bars and restaurants. If you're going to a bigger city, Nizza Monferrato and Canelli are a short drive away. The area's capital, Asti, is located 20 minutes drive north-west.
